As someone who follows the day to day of Congress way more than I should, my firm belief is most people should just assume their politicians are full of shit, ask questions, and if they don’t like the answer (or get met with silence), shame them loudly.

We have AT LEAST two mayoral seats we can flip, so don’t sleep on this one.

At the Broadview ICE detention center outside Chicago this afternoon, things are (relatively) calm.

A vet-organized protest is planned for 4-6pm. After 6, curfew is in place.

Masked agents enter the building. ~1 month ago we would've been able to photograph them from Beach St, but not anymore.

The desire to @ everyone I look up to on here who is fighting their hardest, and ask if they'd consider working together on a unified message is strong, but I honestly don't know if they'd consider it, or if they even get along.

It's frustrating because nobody knows what to do.

And it instills a feeling of helplessness when nearly every single person like yourself I follow for advice and guidance is contradicting each other.

Which is cool. I'm pretty certain that a large percentage of people on Bluesky are just convinced if they bury their heads, block people who post politics and hope for the best, they'll survive this just fine.

Who knows, maybe they will, if at the cost of their minority friends.

I believe that pressuring them to continue this route could yield fruit, but in my opinion, lots of people will hit 'like' on a post to contact your senators and tell them specifically to call the GOP liars and talk about Trump's civil war, but the number who actually will do it is probably low.

Millions of Americans would love to leave, but cannot immigrate for one simple reason: Other countries don't want disabled people who can't work.

The disabled will remain here, fighting from wheelchair and crutch and their beds, crawling if they must.

Convince and encourage every family member, friend and neighbor that supporting the (eventual) redistricting referendum is the right thing to do.

Do NOT automatically assume it will pass because just you’re in a blue state.

Our collective action got Congress to DC to cover DOGE accessing American Social Security information.

We tanked Tesla's stock. Target still hasn't recovered from the boycott.

Okay, in a week of no one changing their votes for the CR, it looks like the Dems just gained the slightest bit of ground. S 2882 has failed, but the vote as of now is 48-51, meaning they got one Republican to vote for it! They need 13 Republicans to switch sides, but this is a notable shift.
