I take the backwards chair in the train to work so more blood can flow to my prefrontal cortex, improving my impulse control.

After my latest fiasco of a L5R adventure, I had to stop GMing for work reasons. Now, I feel I need to get my act together again. So, I'm making a little exercise: making a list of stuffs I like and don't like in my games, in no particular order.

Just finished a L5R adventure and it was a disaster. Had a rough week and it absolutely ruined it for me. Made some terrible decisions as a GM. Many of witch I would loath as a player. Also think this was the wrong game dor this group.

One of the things I believe makes Silksong more difficult and I haven't seen it mentioned (keep in mind, I don't live online) is enemy behavior.
A lot more enemies either feint attacks, dodge hits, step back when you try to approach or just jump you supper fast. Like they know how to fight.

The think that gives me most anxiety on any new TTRPG as a GM is subjective mechanics. Whenever the game just says "talk to the players and decide it on the fly". I don't hate it, but oh boy, does it trigger some deep buried trauma on me.

As bad and dangerous as hollownest was, pharloom is just WAY worse. In the original Hollow Knight, the world felt indifferent to my presence. In Silksong, it fucking hates my guts and all of its citizens'.

I was a bit skeptical on Silksong during act 1, but HOLLY FUCK does it crank it up on act 2! Just finished the cogwork dancers fight and it was brilliant.

Just finished Trails in the Sky and yeah, game is super good. I'm sold. Not mind blown, but I can see how this would be influential for so many ppl. Great characters, good pacing and I mostly kept up with the plot. And it does come together nicely at the end.
Hope I can play the sequel soon.

I often get the urge to become a professional Dungeon Master, but everytime I question that decision.
Like, is 5 dollars/player/session a lot? Do ppl expect music? Is my non-native accent a problem? Should I have all original assets and maps?

It took some time to notice, but Dancing Green is totally wearing that frog as suit, just like in Finn and Jake in Adventure Time!
