Oh yes, Hi, I am Martin.

I'm interested in too many things, but some are: modular synths, neurodivergence, politics, Japan, philosophy, TTRPGs (Call of Cthulhu), gaming (No Man's Sky currently), washoku cooking and japanese cuisine in general...

Hi. Hello.

:-)
I loved reading this thread. It felt comforting. Thank you for writing it.
A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

amazing how the entire machine can pivot within 24 hours. no need to slowly upsell the argument; just issue new marching orders

At least I will be targeted first by the machine overlords because I staunchly defend the idea that AI et al. should make my life easier and do the chores of modern life instead of basically anything else

I see folks who want Magic IP supported and given breathing space.

Lorwyn Eclipsed stories start Monday, then Tuesday WeeklyMTG is showing Marvel Super Heroes previews.

Now, I don't expect story to be sole community focus for a full week. But can you try NOT stomping out your own story with UB?

At some point, one transcends self-sabotage into floating in nothing, only collapsing into action when the fear reaches you.

Concerning AI, I think, we’ll soon come to value the fact that something that could’ve been made with AI

wasn’t.

Nature suggests you use their "Manuscript Adviser" bot to get advice before submitting

I uploaded the classic Watson & Crick paper about DNA structure, and the Adviser had this to say about one of the greatest paper endings of the century:

by all accounts, today should’ve been good. And yet my day is sour; I lost my temper and I hate that about me.

Maybe it was justified, maybe it wasn’t. Doesn’t matter. I lost it and almost full-on shouted at someone in a video call.

It’s not subtle, really.

I wonder how many US citizens REALLY want to live in an increasingly isolated, autocratic, white supremacist terror state with death squads operating on foreign soil and no free press at home.

This is the NYT homepage right now.
