Grief is a sneaky bastard. The day can be going perfectly then a smell or a sound or a picture. Too often the lack of smell or sound or the picture you can’t take.

Grief is a sneaky bastard.
This sounds like a self dunk but it’s actually him boasting.

Nah. Just…nah
Trump: "Whoo. I'm glad my finger wasn't in that sucker. That could've dome some damage but you know what? I wouldn't have shown the pain. I would've gone back. Boy did you hear that? That was nasty. But I would not have shown the pain. I would've acted like nothing happens as my finger fell off."

A favorite tactic of abusers is to treat your (healthy) response to their abuse as somehow proof of the invalidity of your position.

Dr. Ramani Durvasula said it best.

Our anger is a perfectly rational response to an irrational situation.
KARL: In the hours after the shooting of Renee Good, you went on national TV and said to ICE, 'get the F out of Minneapolis.' Do you regret that language? That doesn't sound like turning the temperature down

JACOB FREY: I don't regret it at all. If I seemed like I was angry and frustrated, I was.

Something important about how regular folks have responded to the occupation in Minnesota is that it has created a permission structure for other people across the country to feel like they can fight this regime. Over the past couple of weeks I've seen a lot of people finally step off the sidelines.

You have to block them immediately. The full nuclear. They are only here to make folks angry, and that can’t happen if we lock them out.

My ancestors believed there would be a day where they’d one day be seen again as people and not property.

They sang with the same voices which cried out from lashings.

F*ck do we look like giving up now? Any of us?

In other words, doomers are li-tu-rul-lee aiding the opposition.

Quiet over capitulation.
i have been reading Tom Ricks’ “Fighting the Good War” which is a military analysis of the civil rights movement, and one thing that comes abundantly across is that movement leaders and ordinary people made it a practice to refuse to fall into despair and cynicism.

I've increasingly come to view cynicism as the seedbed of totalitarianism, both because it can paralyze the opposition and because it implicitly validates the might-makes-right ethic of the authoritarian.

Any one of us could be detained for hours by ICE despite being a U.S. citizen.

Any one of us could be in the next apartment building that ICE raids in the middle of the night.

Any one of us could be the next to be brutalized by ICE for speaking out.

Authoritarianism hurts all of us.

"There’s unlikely to be any one moment when the dam breaks and Trump loses GOP support across the board. But there is a steady drip of frustration and dissent from within his own party that has weakened him and will continue to weaken him."

Everyone should read this today:
New in PN: Republicans in Congress show signs of life

"Amid the understandable despair, it can be easy to miss flickers of hope. But the fact is that the regime is ramping up violence and terror in part because its grip on the nation, and even on its own party, seems to be slipping."

Imagine for a second you're a patient in a hospital room (already fantasy to most of America), and the nurse is like, "The doctor will be right with you."

And he just opens the door like:
I thought this was a joke but it’s an actual post from the White House: “we are ending the war on protein”

How about ending the war on the health of this country?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but "disrespect" is not a defensible argument against murder and f*ck everything about this rotten ghoul's anus you festering gangrenous blithering sh*t stain of a mass of flesh.
Q: "Do you believe that deadly force was necessary?"

Trump: "It was highly disrespectful of law enforcement. The woman and her friend were highly disrespectful of law enforcement…Law enforcement should not be in a position where they have to put up with this stuff."

Love should be the prevailing expression towards all other beings, so I'd argue it absolutely does.

"Our" definitions of 'love' are too narrow, + our inability to separate it from romantic intimacy + our idealism is where the problem lies.

I've loved from first sight. Especially my cats + dogs.
Love at first sight doesn't exist.

Love requires building connection over a long period of time.
