It was hard to convince Americans torture is wrong as a moral principle during Bush's term, and that was with the debate about whether torture makes us safer. I'm afraid for a portion of Trump's base, that calculation matters less. Idea of torturing undocumented immigrants may even bring pleasure.

No, but I did want to see the camera tight-focused on his face while the reporter played clips of the prison.
At no point watching the 60 Minutes segment did I think, “gee, what would Stephen Miller have to say?”

DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

Denmark’s vaccine schedule is the most minimalist of any developed country. Even other Nordic nations cover more diseases. Sweden, Norway, and Finland all have broader schedules. The U.K. is adding varicella in 2026. Germany is adding meningococcal B in 2025.

Why Denmark's vaccine schedule works for Denmark — but not for the United States
With its vaccine schedule, “Denmark has made a values choice to accept preventable hospitalizations and illnesses that other countries have chosen to prevent.”

In California, you can kill someone with your car and not even have a point on your license.

That’s because of a criminal justice reform law passed in 2020, allowing judges to effectively erase a misdemeanor case from existence. bit.ly/4s4gYyt

What’s happening in Indiana right now is so important & it’s about more than maps. When the GOP stand up to Trump publicly, loudly, & with visible support, it creates permission. Permission to dissent. Permission to leave. These moments crack the illusion of unanimity that keeps people trapped.
'We can't be bullied': How Trump and the GOP's redistricting push in Indiana backfired
Aggressive tactics employed by Trump and his allies did not sit well with state lawmakers, who delivered a major political blow to national Republicans ahead of the midterms.

Is this creepy? Yes.
But before we call people out as possible security risks based on what they read, recall the Lavender Scare of the 1950s. Gays fired as security risks.
This story is insane, but the moral appears to be don’t fuck with @dfriedman.bsky.social.
Books about “Asian wife sharing.” Detailed descriptions of orgies. Scenes involving “ladyboys.”

That’s what @dfriedman.bsky.social discovered on a Goodreads page tied to the email address of a top Pentagon official and mentor to Pete Hegseth.

What came next was even wilder.
