I don't condone all of his tactics, but Killmonger had a good noble goal, and he kind of won in the end.

It's nuts. I can feel it everywhere I go in this city. Everybody in every neighborhood is exhausted, traumatized, and on alert, ready to protect our neighbors.

I don't go anywhere without a whistle and a fully charged phone these days.
“I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.”

This made me cry. In a good way.

Everywhere I go in Chicago, I can feel neighbors looking out for neighbors. Whistles, signs, honking. There's a tension in the air, but there's resilience and love too. We're all running toward danger together.
“The regime wants all of us afraid. It is counting on fear immobilizing us and perhaps even turning us against each other. Instead, what we are currently seeing in Chicago is that solidarity can overcome fear and can give people the courage and tenacity to fight for each other.” --Mariame Kaba

I'm here outside Speaker Johnson’s office because he is starving families and gutting health care to cover up the Epstein Files.

She began by quoting from Carl Sandberg’s famed poem, “Chicago,” which gave the city the ubiquitous nickname “City of Big Shoulders,” pausing to look up as she read the line: “And having answered so I turn once more to those who sneer at this my city, and I give them back the sneer.”

This is the Chicago I see. This is the Chicago I love.
Ellis: "This is the Chicagoland I see. From Aurora to Cicero, and Chicago to Evanston to Waukegan. This is a vibrant place, brimming with vitality and hope. Striving to move forward from its complicated history."
