One of my 8 year old son's friends told him she's bringing him a banned Big Nate book tomorrow.

Anyone want to guess the title?

I vote no.

Day 3:

BLUE SKIES and FROM NOW ON are companion pieces - they start at the exact same moment and tell the same story, but from two different characters' perspectives.

BLUE SKIES starts with a dad skydiving.

FROM NOW ON starts with his daughter, watching from the ground.

Turns out "democracy dies in darkness" was a nifty bit of foreshadowing.

Day 1 (time travel!):

BLUE SKIES is about a dad who loves his daughter. FROM NOW ON is about a girl who loves her dad. They're both about a dad & daughter time traveling to save the world.

SEVENTEEN MINUTES OF RAIN (WIP) is about a boy who loves a girl who loves baseball.

I agree there's truth to this, but I think if I were a billionaire I would still be a good person.

Anyway, I'm willing to give it a shot if anyone wants to give me a billion dollars.

Your favorite author five years from now may be someone who hasn’t yet published a book.

If you haven’t published a book yet, in five years you might be someone’s favorite author!

You can check out fishing poles at our neighborhood branch. I've never actually done it, but I love that I can.
What do you love about libraries?

Introduction

Hi I'm Joel and I'm writing the Servants of the Moon and Sun. It's a loose epic fantasy reimagining of Sleeping Beauty.
Currently working on the untitled Rose book. It follows the Queen of the Human Realm on her quest to find her stolen child.

POWERFUL: With snow falling in freezing weather in Chicago last night, the massive anti-ICE/Border Patrol rally wrapped up in front of City Hall as the energized crowd chanted, "I believe that we will win!"

Thinking about what he's done here:

1. The victims' names are always in my mind

2. He names names and repeats the date so it's an education tool in the future

3. The chords are D G A so anyone can pick up a guitar and join. Even if you don't know how; I can teach you in 5 minutes.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

@markhamillofficial.bsky.social is sharing @brucespringsteen.net's protest song and I just want to say I picked some really good guys to look up to when I was 10 because both of them have always been on the right side of everything.
"We'll take our stand for this land & the stranger in our midst..."

Powerful. Brutal. Inspirational. A loving tribute to Renée Good, Alex Pretti & the good people of Minneapolis.
Plus, it name-checks all the villains: the Puppy Killer🐶, Pee-Wee German🇩🇪, the Orange Atrocity🍊💩 & above all: ICE🧊🚫

Day 29:

I don't think BLUE SKIES or FROM NOW ON need warnings, but there is a little violence, some with guns and shooting, and a few deaths.

Okay, maybe more than a few. But it's time travel, so they're hard to count.

Oh, and if you have a fear of heights, or falling...
