It would be so cool if the United States Congress still existed.

Look at this guy. There’s always at least one.
Mamdani will now focus on private developer-led housing as if it is any way radical, rather than something the development industry love.

He’ll also jettison anything even mildly environmentally progressive, citing ‘costs for hardworking New Yorkers’.

Mark my words. This isn’t my first rodeo.

Among the many reasons you don’t kidnap a foreign head of state at gunpoint even if you have the capability, is that it sparks consequences you can neither control nor anticipate.

1. Maduro is not a good guy by any stretch of the imagination.
2. But capturing him through an extra-legal action that violates international law undermines any US credibility with Russia in Ukraine and China with Taiwan.
3. We have a terrible history with topping leaders without a post-war plan.

2026 will be decided by margins, and Black voters are often the margin. That’s why voting rights are under attack. This isn’t random, it’s strategic. They know our votes matter. We’ve fought for our power before and won. 2026 starts now. #ProtectTheVote #BlackVotersMatter #BlackPoliticalPower

I was fired, ostensibly for 'counting money too slowly', but really for showing discomfort when my manager made me turn away a Black active duty army guest traveling with his wife and baby. When I tried to report anon, **** *** would not allow me to report, and [state] DoJ couldn't help

Due to our state's demographics vs. the demographics of out of state guests, this policy amounted to racial discrimination. Most in-state guests (black, Native, Hispanic), if they got rooms at all, got worse rooms. Out of state guests were mostly white and got renovated rooms.

This is similar to rules I had to follow when I worked at hotels. Where I worked, the hotel had half renovated, half un-renovated rooms. I was barred from giving a renovated room to anyone with a [my state+a neighboring state] driver's license because they 'cause trouble'.

So the hotel is basically saying they don't want locals to rent the hotel for weddings, anniversary parties or any event where there might be drinking into the night.

Another corporate self own. People, you know what we have to do! #boycott #Hilton
A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.

When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.

This is outrageous.

Modern day slavery under the 13th amendment:
“In 2022, seven states, all in the South, paid no wages at all for regular (non-industrial) jobs: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas.”

Also known as enslavement. I wonder which states allow this. Hmm…
Some state constitutions still contain explicit exceptions that allow forced labor for incarcerated people, a direct legacy of the 13th Amendment’s “exception clause.”

A historian answers Bolts readers’ questions on the deep roots of forced labor in U.S. prisons, how it operates today, and efforts to challenge it.

What do people like Scott Bessent, Peter Thiel and Bari Weiss think would happen if the day ever came that the bigots got everybody who isn’t white and right-leaning out of the country (which won’t happen)?

They think it would then be a harmonious union of non-woke white folks, gay and straight?
And there are quite a few LGBT high-profile allies of the current regime. They’re fine with the idea of going on a rampage against diversity. The racism isn’t a dealbreaker. But they haven’t figured out yet that the people who hate all these other people almost always hate them too.

the least shocking thing in the epstein files that wont get enough attention. police regularly arrest and charge victims to coerce them into participating, often jailing them in conditions that are worse.
jesus the Palm Beach Police really sought arrest warrants against underage Epstein victims for coming forward and cooperating, and (purported) admitting to crimes, and it caused the victims to become uncooperative with the federal investigation

Women simply aren't full citizens of the US, though we're sure as hell expected to be fully paid-up taxpayers. We lack a phrase in English to convey the systematic political project of excluding women from human and civil rights, and the protection of the law. "Gender apartheid," perhaps.
