I am forever running out of bobbin thread in the middle of a stitch, but today i pulled my curtain to snip the thread after hemming the bottom and this was all that was left in the bobbin attached to the curtain. Almost no waste 🤌

A rant about the waffle house egg surcharge courtesy of my math-minded partner. Fun with math to help visualize very unfunny corporate greed.
Eggs at the grocery store are straight TF out of control, and everybody's mad as hell about it, myself included. But this particular number is literally nothing but greed, and i can prove it mathematically. Eggs in the grocery store are about 6$ per dozen right now. That's 50 cents per egg and we're talking Retail, not wholesale, we're talking average not bottom-bitch eggs, we're talking about regular price, not on sale. 50 cents per egg to you and John Q Public. So for easy math, let's take that number and reduce it by 15%, because they buy in bulk. that's 5$ per dozen, now. Let's drop it another 20% because first we're talking Wholesale not Retail, and also because we can assume they're not buying the highest of quality. That's 4$ per dozen. Divide by 12 and we're at $0.33 per egg already $0.17 lower than the per-egg surcharge.But we ain't done yet. Not by a damn sight.First, because this is an increase out of relative proportion to the market. This assumes that the cost of their plates hasn't already been going up with inflation--hint: it has. When it really comes down to it, egg prices have been stupid high and this surge amounts to only a 20% increase in the overall price, but when it comes to us, we pay a 150% premium. And let's not forget that this is a SURCHARGE. See, neighbor, they were already covering the cost of those eggs by steadily inflating the menu price, and you were already paying that 20%. So a 20% increase in the cost of eggs to Waffle House results in a difference of six cents per egg. But you are being asked to pay TEN TIMES THAT for a cost they have already covered by raising prices. So just how much impact is this? Waffle House is estimated to go through 272,000,000 eggs per year. This complete fucking scam will strip $136,000,000.00 from the pockets of their patrons who, let's be honest, are not the people most fiscally able to bear that burden. All to take a single billionaire nepo baby from a net worth of 1.72 billion to a smooth 2.

All applications for gender marker change are on hold while the State Department changes this policy.

Anyone who now submits an application for a change runs the risk of losing access to their passport and documents while their application is being processed.
