San Francisco just upzoned the Sunset, the Richmond, North Point, and a bunch of the Marina. I truly never thought I'd see the day. Huge congratulations to the local activists at @sfyimby.bsky.social who worked so hard to make this happen.

my most woke opinion is that any truck/SUV over 4,000 pounds should require a commercial drivers license, increased insurance/registration, more expensive parking, and higher punishments for traffic violations
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Almost certainly Seattle. Population went from 600k->800k, the city went from no rail system to a top-10 busiest network, region became an absolute economic powerhouse, there’s a total transformation of the waterfront, and so much more

The amount budgeted for *all* transit, not just regional rail - is far less than we need to complete the State Rail Plan on time. And starting soon, all of it will be awarded as competitive grants that cause years of delay. CA urgently needs to fix funding to meet climate goals.

Wiener very much is a serious legislator. The governor just signed a major transit-oriented development bill, the most serious intervention on the California housing shortage yet, authored by Wiener after a near decade of hard work.
I'm not an expert on California politics but this strikes me as big news. State Senator Scott Wiener is going to run for Pelosi's seat regardless of what she does. Again, primaries are good. And from everything I've heard he's a serious legislator.
