Writer. Former rabbi. One typo, and I could've been a former rabbit. Here for the conversations.

Perhaps the entire spy industry was just one big doom box as well...

The actual spirit and law of Yom Kippur in action in one post.

You must acknowledge and regret the mistake and make a concrete plan for the future.

Noted, and acknowledgement that the casual "Old Testament/New Testament" division can carry the freight of antisemitism, which I suspect was not intended either by the original comment (and definitely not by me), but it's okay to say, whoops, let's not do that again
jstickgoldsarah.bsky.social
Not to disagree with your point about humans, but the Jewish god, a.k.a. the god of the Old Testament, it’s not actually crueler than the Christian god. We literally just finished a holiday that is entirely about mercy and forgiveness.

Those are 2 perfect examples of pop culture to 100% miss 😀

But LOTR... whew

Hi.

Stop letting your kids get Covid, I absolutely beg you as a fully grown adult who can’t believe how little of a life I have after 3 years of LC.

I'm grinding my teeth so hard because this man has a whole tradition going back to the Talmud of the obligation to marry theory with practice and lived experience and story telling and morality and so much more and in the name of the melting pot his people just - junked it.

The best use of ungepatchked I have seen in a long while
bcdreyer.social
Someone asked to see it elsewhere, so waste not, want not: the Korean edition of DE, featuring a two-color interior, flaps (it’s a paperback), foil, and a belly band.

How do you say ungapatchka in Korean?

(I adore it.)

For me, what's worse is, Klein belongs to a tradition of thousands of years but lacks all knowledge of the history and scholarship and literature of that tradition, which would also have provided him with those tools. Alienation from all things Jewish has not served well.
smashfizzle.bsky.social
What Klein couldn’t seem to admit was that his core political analysis is born of his personal experience, and nothing about his personal experience prepared him to face the complexity of the current moment. What he could not cope with acknowledging, is that he never thought that would matter.

An excellent writer!

That part is pretty simple - they just ignored the bureaucrats and courts. We literally watched them do it in building after building with DOGE, and then ICE etc. The ignoring is public. Not sure why they even bother showing up in court. Maybe to send it up to the supremes to rule their way.

Some journalists have called it a crime to work for the NYT
jasonv.bsky.social
Absolute all-timer sentence in today's @nytimes.com
"some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily execute civilians" says today's New York Times, continuing their long tradition of whitewashing fascism

Exactly this, I was thinking, what could be worse, we're the Tesla of cybersecurity? But no, they both explode

owl chet shechatanu lefanecha...

Now I'm laughing (at him). 3300-years-wide historical scope...

Nope we still doing the wrapture every morning
maimonidesnutz.bsky.social
Everyone keeps talking about the rapture so when I ask if you want to WRAP tefillin, your answer better be “SURE”
ymandel.bsky.social
I'm even nostalgic for my childhood in caracas, which included a shootout as I was crossing the street and weekend shootings behind our apartment building, and a middle class with live in help, because as you say, I felt protected compared to others.
ymandel.bsky.social
It's really a sign of changing times - no concerns of doxxing, what would people do with it? There was no internet socials etc to coordinate a hate campaign, each call cost money if not local, so many factors.

Kids of course used it for random prank calls. Legendary.

Is your refrigerator running?

@ebonyteach.bsky.social that was a particularly uplifting set of flowers you shared today, and I'm especially liking the name of this yellow "green stick" flower
ymandel.bsky.social
It's a USA thing too not to show it, and we only have to pay local sales tax which would not be difficult at all to add.
ymandel.bsky.social
well done well done, lubavitchers everywhere taking notes

He paid bill in obedience and tradition

Dude. The Arab nations etc have always walked out whenever someone Jewish got up to speak.

since it was taken over, maybe Dybloop?

OMG this one post just clarified for me the difference between Jewish bringing Moshiach vs xtian stuff.
We work thru Torah Mitzvos acts of goodness and kindness to bring the era of Moshiach. They are just... this:
rosalarian.bsky.social
Some people are desperate for the Rapture as a way to escape the consequences for what they've done to this world. They have a mindset that is permanently stuck in the mode of a guy who knows he's getting fired soon so why not trash the place before you go.

I can only LISTEN because he BLINDED me with that vision of caftan

Come for the Kissinger part, stay for the "Ronald Reagan was a liberal" part

Live your life so that you never have to say at the end of an interview, “If we go light on the Kissinger part, I wouldn’t complain.”
