There are so many stupid "critiques" of the sequels in general. Luke flys an X-Wing? Fine. Small child wins pod race? Sure. Rey learns to pilot the Falcon on the fly after a bad takeoff and crashing into things? Mary Sue!
And I can't believe 10 years later you can still find people unironically posting about how it's a "plot hole" that Rey defeats a trained Jedi even though the movie bends over backwards in several ways to show you EXACTLY how that's possible.
I guess they needed someone to explain it in dialogue

I know this is hard to believe for folks outside of the Bay Area, but Newsom has always positioned himself as a moderate. He won the race for Mayor in a runoff against Green Party candidate Matt Gonzalez.
Ethics aside it has always been politically stupid for Newsom to try and reposition himself as a moderate, thereby alienating the progressive wing (maybe even on purpose), because he’s running as Gavin Newsom, Supercommie whether he likes it or not

Talked to 23 people who suddenly have to pay huge tariffs or otherwise cannot get chainmail from Pakistan, yarn from France, retro computers from Japan, metal music from the Netherlands, DVDs from Germany, cosplay supplies, sunscreen, etc.

I used to work at Northgate Mall in San Rafael, and years before that food court pic went viral, I saw him sitting there. He was with his son, so I didn't bother him (also: social anxiety!). But I literally stopped in my tracks and did a double take.

One way to think of what’s going on is that Trump & his gang are trust fund kids spending down the reservoir of U.S. power & influence without understanding or caring where the balance in that account came from. They treat it as just a fact of nature that there will always plenty there.

if you find yourself reluctant to support the guy at Columbia because you find some of the politics he espoused distasteful or even abhorrent, you should know that this is exactly the reaction that they hoped for in choosing him as a target for unlawful detention based on political speech.
