The post-Iraq transfer of military equipment to police has been a disaster on many levels, including the psychological. Every cop now gets to cosplay as an operator and treat those they’re supposed to ‘protect and serve’ as an occupied population.

Not the first person to make this observation, but it's so striking how the media covered the crack epidemic as a problem caused by black/urban drug users and the fentanyl epidemic as a problem imposed externally on white/rural drug users.

I enjoyed most of the Calipari era at Kentucky but my favorite UK moment ever was Patrick Sparks jumping on the scorers table and giving Billy Packer a high five. Seeing Trent Noah bang in 30 footers as a freshman on the road in SEC play gives me the same vibes.
