Back in the news. I don’t even like OSU, definitely don’t care about Day, but this guy has lost two games in 2 years and might win back to back titles, yet drooling Ohio Neanderthals are doxxing his home address. (P.S. Go Dawgs)
The only other fan base this ungrateful is Ohio State, who will likely win the title tomorrow but still have a large portion of fans holding pitchforks for the head of Ryan Day, who has a win % of like 88. Most teams would kill to have coaches this good. Day hires security due to death threats.
The Eagles only won by 6. Time for Philly fans to resume calling for the firing of Nick Sirianni.

Any other Antonio Campos auteurist fans out there? If you grooved on his exploration of innate violence within the human condition in stuff like AFTERSCHOOL and THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME, then check out THE BEAST IN ME on Netflix. Also worth it for Jonathan Banks just doing more great acting.

Shameless self-promotion skeet:

The National Heads-Up Poker Championship dropped on Peacock. Go to the Just Added section on the home page and it’ll be the first thumbnail.

I directed this show and am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Nathaniel Hackett deserves another chance.
this is a big move to make this late in the coaching cycle. who is still available that you can get to keep the roster together?
Breaking: Vanity Fair and Olivia Nuzzi agreed to part ways after new revelations and allegations about an affair with RFK Jr. and her behavior while reporting on him.

"Does anyone actually watch people play poker on television?"

or

"Do you play blackjack?"
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Holy shit, now he’s done it to Greased Lightnin’. Is nothing sacred? If next year’s ad is Pulp Fiction I’m rioting.
I never believed there could be a timeline so dark that it would involve an old, fat John Travolta, dressed as Santa Claus, desecrating the SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER opening credit sequence by copying it in order to sell Capital One credit cards. A vile consumerist nightmare.

Turns out that if it takes you 9 days to find time to see a new movie, that movie may be gone already. So much for SIRAT on the big screen. FML

ALL HER FAULT is a trashy, risible soap opera but weirdly compelling - and it’s nice to see Sarah Snook back on TV, and to realize Dakota Fanning has entered peak Amanda Seyfried territory and is crushing it. Guess I rarely see shitty airplane paperbacks on screen, much less read them.

TIL that the Frank Perry who directed THE SWIMMER is Katy Perry's uncle.

This is an indictment both of ChatGPT and the state of movie titles today, but definitely way more an indictment of ChatGPT.

Halfway through the ED GEIN miniseries on Netflix and it just keeps getting better. Balances the depravity and gruesomeness with sharp wit. And episode 4 is a surprise PHANTOM THREAD reunion with Lesley Manville joining Vicky Krieps to slay it for 45 minutes.

Perfect microcosm for 2025. The best one is going away. In my alternate timeline it’s Burger King that gives all their locations over to Wendy’s.
The interim CEO of Wendy's announced that about 200 to 350 underperforming stores across the U.S. will close. https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2025/11/07/wendys-plans-close-hundreds-restaurants/
