Trans kids are not a bargaining chip. Being trans isn’t a culture war. Not giving an inch in my support for trans and nonbinary people of all ages to live freely and openly, and neither should you. Gender is what we make of it, and that’s what they’re afraid of.

robert f. kennedy jr. submits his application to harvard university. his application is, in its entirety, a single page with his name "Robert F. Kennedy Jr."

he is accepted immediately.

This is my periodic rant that Apple Intelligence is so bad that today it got every fact wrong its AI a summary of @washingtonpost.com news alerts.

It's wildly irresponsible that Apple doesn't turn off summaries for news apps until it gets a bit better at this AI thing.

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...

For the past year, @propublica.org has been reporting on the toll when a city "sweeps" an encampment. We handed out cards so folks could write in their own words what it meant to have their belongings trashed.

We're publishing dozens of those stories here:

Cities often take belongings — including important documents and irreplaceable mementos — when they conduct sweeps of homeless encampments. ProPublica gave notecards to people across the country so th...

As in Tennessee, this ban does not apply to cis children, because the drugs themselves are not a safety hazard. The only thing at risk is a society’s discomfort with allowing young people to make their own decisions about their own bodies.

It’s genuinely shocking if you’re remotely familiar with the basic facts of trans care and youth medicine.

It is *profoundly* difficult to access gender-affirming care as a minor and the Times has printed more than a dozen articles implying that it is too easy.
in hindsight the NYT anti-trans crusade is one of the most despicable things that any big time journalism outfit in this country has ever done. a perfect and clearly intentional layup for the fascists on the Supreme Court

Yeah this was a whole thing. Caitlyn Jenner filmed herself going into the women's room at Trump Towers. North Carolina was trying to ban trans people from bathrooms and our whole culture responded in outrage. They moved the NBA All Star game out of Charlotte.
This is suddenly kicking off on what’s left of MuskTwit…

Apparently Trump was opposed to bathroom bans.
