My ADHD husband's biggest challenges are sleep and emotional dysregulation in that order but all he was ever told about ADHD was the attention management part.

As someone who works in PR it's just so IRRITATING that we have to spend all our energy working against the narrative that was set that these are purely behavioural conditions that you can train out of people or they simply outgrow.

It’s almost like “free speech” and “freedom of expression” is just a tool to excuse bigotry, while suppressing marginalised groups..
What's so frustrating in this moment of explicit government censorship is how many times groups like the ACLU and others told us they _had_ to defend neo nazis because of the principle of free speech. Now that fascists are in power, none of those principles are protecting marginalized groups.

I'm not an abolitionist of all of psychiatry. The drugs are great so thanks. I know if they cared about mad people the drugs wouldn't destroy our bodies but I digress. I'm an abolitionist of caging people for madness. It's well possible for people in mental crisis to be cared for in community.

Just randomly thinking that as a disabled student who became a disabled faculty member who is now finding teaching in the gAI age incredibly debilitating, disabled people do not get to be uncritical of gAI, or indeed, anything as access technologies, simply because we are disabled.
