One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

I suspect some people are very invested in thinking about the Clintons and Obama as idealized good guys when that's not really the reality of either of the Clintons' or Obamas records. And, also, then you have to start thinking about what's wrong with the system as a whole.

Probably should have CN these posts for gender shit. TL;DR I grew up in a regional conservative Christian patriarchal household and didn't realise I was non-binary until later in life. I never want those kids growing up with only conservative country folk as their only adults. Because I did.

I'm still in everyone's lives so my nibblings grow up having an open minded safe adult if they need one. It's also why I haven't come out as enby to my family - because I doubt that would be accepted and I need to know those kids have a landing pad if they ever need one. Instead minimal contact.

Still can't believe my brother is paying to send all his kids to a conservative Christian private school. He isn't religious and neither is his wife. But wow are they raising their kids to be and my very conservative Christian parents are praising the hell out of it. We grew up extremely poor. Wild.

I didn't agree with the other regulations either but at least the no jewellery, no makeup, no hair dye stuff is more common. And unlike the school I went to 25 years ago at least they let girls wear pants. Sadly not everyone is allowed to wear skirts.

Mum just told me my freshly 13 year old nephew -HAS- to shave for school now he is starting to get facial hair. That's so gross. Body autonomy apparently doesn't exist in that private school. She thinks it fine, but I strongly believe it should be personal choice.
