It's amazing to me that for Rad Racer, Square absolutely nailed the sprite-based 3D, driving-towards-the-horizon look for an NES game, but fumbled so badly trying to recreate it for the FF6 sequence when you're fleeing the Magitek factory.
(To be fair, 99% of that game is peak SNES implementation.)

I haven't played Y:LaD in months but something just occurred to me.
The games would feel slightly less misogynistic if all job classes were available to all characters.
I want to see Ichiban as an idol, Saeko as a bodyguard, Nanba as a night queen.

I'm having trouble deciding whether I like "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" or not. I'm finding that I miss elements of the PS2 Yakuza titles.
Also, can they not write compelling and/or complex women characters? Each one feels like a mishmash of "deferential," "sexy," "helpless," and "vapid" archetypes.
