Bari Weiss introduced herself to CBS News staff today on the network's 9AM call, saying she wants to "win," which requires restoring trust to CBS. She also said she was excited for staff to get to know the Free Press, and ended her remarks by saying: "Let's do the fucking news."

The notion that Bari will be "running CBS News" is slightly misleading. What the reporting suggests is that Tom Cibrowski, a guy with normal qualifications, will be doing that. Bari will be Emperor Ellison's Vader-esque enforcer, outside the chain of command, intervening at will.

Just like most of Obama's staffers based decisions on what fictional characters in The West Wing would do, apparently Weiss thinks she's going to play out The Newsroom in real time.

Aaron Sorkin TV really did a lot of damage to a certain type of elite-educated millennials...

As one of the countless people *actually* cancelled by Bari Weiss, via her vast favor-trading networks of fellow nepotistic gatekeepers in media and publishing, I think both of these asinine dipshits should go fuck themselves.

I didn’t rejoice at her cancellation and got cancelled myself at roughly the same time, but I am sincerely jealous that no regime-aligned billionaire has even fit to curry favor with the Trump administration by giving me a huge sum of money.

The vitriol against Bari Weiss is just thinly-veiled jealousy by people who rejoiced at "cancelling" her in 2020 and are furious she managed to get fabulously wealthy in an infamously brutal and low-paying industry.

Weiss has done journalism that mattered--Free Press reporting got the interim Columbia president dumped. She will make CBS more conservative. But her real influence has been in politics, not media. She has helped create a conservatism that coastal elites can embrace. newrepublic.com/article/2014...
MAGA Lite: What “Bari Weiss Conservatism” Is, and Why It’s Dangerous
The new CBS executive isn’t exactly MAGA. But her polite Trumpism will still help destroy America as we know it.
