An appeals court blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to withhold full SNAP benefits, and officials said they would return to the Supreme Court as millions faced shutdown-related disruptions.

UPDATE: The administration's appeal to the high court over the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program comes despite new efforts to end the federal shutdown, which would render the issue moot.

Donald Trump just said he'll ask the Supreme Court to freeze SNAP payments AGAIN.

His message to the 42 million Americans who rely on SNAP? Eat dirt.

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

The Senate Democrats!

Ending or cutting back SNAP was the point, so why believe R's will do anything to stop the Trump administration from trying other ways once the government re-opens?

At 11:54 p.m. ET, the First Circuit *denied* the Trump administration's request for a stay pending appeal in the SNAP case.

#SCOTUS now has 48 hours (so, through 11:54 p.m. on Tuesday) to either grant the same relief or extend the "administrative stay" entered by Justice Jackson on Friday night.

Senate Democrats are idiots & cowards but Trump cannot stop himself from hurting work families: this allows him to kick 24 million off of healthcare, he will keep trying to kick 42 off of food stamps, and he will continue to make life hell for federal workers (ensuring serious service disruptions)

It's not just the govn't shutdown & SNAP delays. The GOP is cutting food benefits, education programs, farm subsidies, FAA services, wind & solar production, etc - while food, travel, healthcare, energy, & tariff costs increase.

Dems caving now addresses NONE of this!

This is such bullsh*t from New Hampshire's leading TV station, WMUR. No it doesn't guarantee that food stamps are going to be funded through the 2026 fiscal year, because Trump's been impounding funds!

I mean tbf the Trump administration not only being the majority party but outright arguing in court to try to prevent SNAP payments is essentially running opposition propaganda against themselves, the Dems are probably correct to think they can get away with a lot here
