Immense respect for Vladyslav Heraskevych 🙌

He also achieved even more for his cause than without IOC's authoritarian hypocrisy.

Heraskevych’s choice to forfeit the medal chance instead of give up the memorial helmet is the biggest story in Ukraine today. Everyone is heartbroken but there is a unanimous consensus that this was what had to happen rather than to give up.

Because the IOC is apolitical? Not hardly.

No surprise that no one seems to care about this year's Olympics. The IOC's reputation is simply so crappy that people have lost interest.
What a stupid timeline where we can be bombed and killed in our own homes for no reason, yet are forbidden from paying public tribute to slain athletes. This is not neutrality, this is silencing the victim.

Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych's memory helmet shows the faces of Ukrainian athletes and coaches killed by russia's war.

The International Olympic Committee has disqualified him for wearing it - undermining its own reputation.

Hanging out with Putin is OK for the IOC, but having the pictures of athletes killed by russia on your helmet is not! Pathetic but not surprising.

The IOC doesn’t seem to get that some of the most iconic moments of the Olympics — which generate massive amounts of good will toward the games — were moments of political speech by brave athletes.

IOC's "neutral athlete" policy exposed: russian athletes with pro-war ties still competing.

Once again, the Olympic committee prioritises participation over principles.

If acknowledging the loss of 650 Ukrainian Olympians breaks IOC rules and the IOC also systematically fails to confront Russia, the greatest abuser of international sports, shows complicity, plain, and simple.
