Surely kilotons of airweight revolvers (with pink grips, natch) lying around averaging but double-digit count of rounds through them, such is the unpleasantness of shooting them

I worry too, sometimes. I see lots of people marketed awful products they don't even want due to pushy salesman. To me, I do think it's a good idea to own a gun as long as you seek training and you actively want one. But whenever I see some girl get upsold a $700 pink S&W Airweight with a box of FMJ

that is a CHIAPPA RHINO, that is not a bottom's gun!! A REAL bottom would use something like a S&W Airweight 642, perhaps a Model 10 or Ruger SP101 if they're a power-bottom.

This revolver is actually a pre-Model 43, which was the "Airweight" version of the .22/32 M1953. The low four digit serial number dates it to March 1954. These only remained in production until the 1970s, and they're not easy to find today. (4/6)
