When they did finally release a successor after all that time, it was basically the same thing except with a color LCD. Like, literally the same 160x144 resolution, the same CPU, no new buttons, no stereo sound, and no backlight. The only thing they changed was color graphics and more RAM.

Because by not adding backlight and colour display, it didn't need as many batts making it, comparatively, cheap as chips

Did some upgrades to my vulfen:
* Made legs longer (and thicc'er)
* Played around with Poiyomi shader:
* Switch shading to realistic
* A small amount of glitter effect
* Environmental rim, backlight and LTCGI
Small changes, but really liking the results

Well you can get versions to backlight TV sets cheap at Walmart to run tests with, they also make out door versions for Christmas you can try the cheap short version there to see if you need to really invest in something
