#Brigid’s
Talked about St Brigid and the wonderful writer Kate O’Brien (there was a connection but you had to be there to follow it) with UL’s Tina O’Toole and UAH’s Marisol Morales at an Irish Embassy event in Madrid tonight. Added bonus: another excuse to wear my St Brigid’s cross brooch.

Well, that was fantastic! It sounds as if Brigid’s book is a wonderful blend of poetry, nature writing, thoroughly researched mythology and righteous anger against the Patriarchy. Also, she is dressed like a cross between a swynwraig and one of the Tylwyth Teg, which is goals, frankly.
Ready for an exciting book talk at Griffin Books with Brigid Lowe: it’s going to involve another look at the story of Blodeuwedd which @swilua.bsky.social told so excitingly the other day

We are thrilled to announce that we'll be publishing Brigid Lowe's breathtaking 'love letter to Caledonia', #Shiver: The Lessons of the Lochs. This memoir tells the story of Brigid's epic quest to swim in each of Scotland’s 30,000 lochs.

p2p4 is hard - Brigid's Command could end up very good if we get enough fixing. I think Wickermaw is the disciplined choice.

p2p5 Lys Alana Dignitary is actually pretty good - we'll need to pick up Changelings though.

Kildare Town Library held a Brigid themed Kite Making Workshop last week! 'St Brigid-Her Life, Her Legacy' had Brigid's cross as the focal point, and the kids added their own interpretations of her story and anything else they wanted to their new kites....brilliant! 🪁

2-0-1 at tonight's #MagicMates #ECL draft with WG. Kinbinding P1P1 but stayed very open until P3 when a late Brigid's Command made it clear Kithkin was open.

Ended up playing Morcant's Eyes as my 23rd because I wanted a way to dig for the Kinbinding. I had no elves but 6 changelings.

It's an evergreen debate over kitchen tables and the airwaves across the country. At school, we are taught the first day of Spring is St Brigid's Day on February 1, but Met Éireann proudly declares March 1 as the day. So who's right?
February 9, 2026 at 11:36 AM
P1P11 low importance pick but generally bias towards 2 drop, especially bc you have a white card

P2P1 if you had a stronger red base you could spec on brigid's command, esp if you also had a white 2
P2P2 then maybe luminollusk? idk
P2P3 then another preacher
P2P4 wow rewarded

Late Imbolc post. But it resonates, as it has been relentlessly overcast for ages in this corner of England: not so much green or pleasant, more drab & gloomy. ☹️

Maybe this virtual Brigid's cross will bring brighter times *looks at weather forecast hopefully*.🙏
Imbolc greetings.

Spring is allegedly springing. So maybe it will actually stop raining for a few minutes at some point soon!

Brigid’s cross, woven from rushes and traditionally hung in the home, particularly in Ireland, to protect from fire, illness or other bad luck.

Day 207 of Natedogg's Daily Rules Tip:

Q: I have a Bristlebane Outrider in play, which is currently a 3/5. I cast Brigid's Command, with the second and fourth modes chosen. If I have my Outrider fight an opponent's 4/4, what happens? #mtg

Kind of a cheat answer but for Jugdral I'll go with Brigid/Eyvel. I still need to finish Thracia, so that answer could conceivably change, but everything about Brigid's story is just so cool. And to go from an archer wielding a legendary bow to an equally skilled swordmaster? What a legend

The better question is why isn’t it already?

Also St. Brigid’s Day or throwing it back to the pagans: Imbolc.
