Child care is a college success issue. The CCAMPIS bill would invest $500M per year through 2031 so low-income student parents, including at HBCUs, can stay enrolled and graduate. Why reauthorization matters for equity: buff.ly/ZFBLKxk

I am so grateful to the reporters who are continuing to write about CCAMPIS, how important a resource it is, and the troubling move from the Trump admin to cut grants from some schools and not have a grant round even though there are unspent funds in the program.

No parent should have to choose between furthering their education and raising a child.
I joined @whipkclark.bsky.social and @duckworth.senate.gov to introduce the Child Care Access Means Parents in Schools (CCAMPIS) Reauthorization Act to ensure parenting students can access affordable child care.

My wife and I relied on CCAMPIS while in graduate school. It’s the main reason we were able to afford to start a family when we did.
The only federal program that funds on-campus child care, CCAMPIS, has seen unprecedented cuts this year from the Trump administration.

The Trump admin. has proposed eliminating the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program in its budget, which directly funds on-campus childcare for low-income student-parents. They are trying to get degrees to be better able to provide for their children. A hand up not hand out.

Confirmed that Dep of Education is prohibiting funds already appropriated to UCSD under the CCAMPIS program, because it is part of DEI. Fuck Trump and his minions
My daughter's school just announced that the CCAMPIS grant that is funding our spot is no longer getting funded. Less than a month after we decided to forego a TK spot at a public school, which may now no longer be available.

Parenting students navigate a precarious balance of caregiving, work, + school. Uncertainty in what aid is available means tough decisions about staying enrolled.
Grateful for coverage of ED delays in posting CCAMPIS grants, which are critical for parenting students to plan for their next semester
