48 years. That's how long trans women have been eligible to compete in tennis.

If only those who were concerned about how women are treated had like, a whole body of activism and scholarship about gender they could turn to to improve conditions for women.

Will we be busier working on more tasks for our billionaire overlords, busier working to survive the escalated and more drastic impacts of climate change thanks to data centers, or both?

What the actual fuck is wrong with this guy
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

not sure why, but seeing lots of posts about the so-called "crisis in masculinity" today, so I'm re-upping this 🧵 from last year explaining why this issue is better thought of as a "fear of femininity"...
last week there was a lot of "young men" & "crisis of masculinity" Discourse™, so since I'm gradually uploading some of my old slam poems to YouTube, I figured I'd release "Barrette Manifesto", which later became a chapter of my first book #WhippingGirl...

RFK Jr: "Two weeks ago we ended, under your leadership, a twenty year war on women".

Three out of five men in this shot have been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment or abusive behaviour towards women. A fourth signed into law a near-total abortion ban in his state as governor.

One thing I always want to ask these masculinity entrepreneurs is why men can’t look to women as role models, and can’t see in women models of human virtue and thriving that are worth emulating. After all, women look to men for these all the time.

So if we aren’t at war because Congress hasn’t declared war, is blowing up people on boats in the Caribbean a war crime or …terrorism?

It’s Giving Tuesday. (It’s giving … Tuesday.) I really encourage you to donate to an abortion fund, which make the promise of equality real by allowing women to control their bodies and lives, pursue their dreams, and live with dignity. Find your local fund here: abortionfunds.org

You kind of have to be a bad writer to take on something like Project 2025, because it necessitates ignoring evidence, justifying fascism, and writing policies based on vibes, white supremacy, and misogyny
Actually just reading Project 2025, like just the PDF, and god damn this is poorly written. I thought the heritage foundation had been around long enough to at least write somewhat professionally and skillfully but this is some shit I'd be ashamed to have in my Youtube scripts

What happened to Trump makes all the orders and no one is allowed to challenge them?
If Admiral Bradley didn’t realize before that these cowards were setting him up to take the fall, he knows it now. Time to hire a good lawyer.

Yes when shit costs more, people spend more to get it. Would bet they spent more but got less, which apparently isn’t worth talking about here

Has Babson College made any kind of statement about their student being detained?

It’s World AIDS Day (even if our oppressive govt wants to ignore it).

Grateful for the activists that forced attention and resources on AIDS and changed so many lives. Grateful for folks living with AIDS and grieving those lost too soon.

This. And those tech bros and billionaires still want THEIR kids to attend college, just not anyone else.
I saw something say that AI was making undergrad degrees useless and I can't ignore the fact that tech bros and billionaires want everyone else to not attend college to ensure the populace loses critical thinking skills and push them out of the ability to overtake them.

Unvaccinated infants are the second most likely group to get hospitalized for Covid after older adults. Any effort to minimize the effectiveness for kids is evil.

It should read this and add that FDA ignores that 2,000 children have died from Covid in the U.S., estimated 6 million have long covid.
Headline should read: Antivax-led FDA attributes 10 child deaths to COVID shots, offers no proof

Does it strike anyone as weird that we have a ratings board that counts the number of times a movie says fuck or shows a boob and decides who is allowed to see it, and yet GenAI was dropped on the entire with no restrictions, no age verification, no checks, no regulation whatsoever?
November 29, 2025 at 4:22 AM
Saying you made an agreement that “places no restrictions” that very clearly places restrictions on trans ppl is…I guess consistent in a country where the ppl in power routinely lie, lie,+ lie some more.

Disgusting of Northwestern to enter this agreement and try to gaslight their community about it
"The agreement places no restrictions on our transgender community."

Except whether they can play sports, where they can use the bathroom or locker room, what kind of housing they can live in, and what healthcare they can receive.

MetLife denied my short term disability claim (not explicitly for long COVID but symptoms that could be from long COVID/I will never know for sure) so a big fuck you to them, and am relieved to hear this person got the disability benefit they need and should never have been denied
A Google software engineer won his battle against MetLife to receive disability benefits for Long Covid.

This is huge

Long Covid has a lot of stigma attached to it and it can be hard to get disability.

You’re told to “try harder”.

It’s “not that bad”.

You can “still work”.

Not everyone can
