We need the right to roam, full stop. Fuck the landowners and the medieval set-up we still have in the UK. If it can happen in Scotland, it can happen here. This crap has been going on for centuries since our land was stolen in the enclosures.

Calumny! I am surrounded by sheep-grazed Welsh commonland and it is packed with flora - right now, hawkbit, thyme, clover, two species of plantain, centaury, trefoil, harebell, eyebright, etc - plus numerous grasses - and is busy with insects - what do you think #wildflowerhour?
Mike Perry’s ‘Reverse Sod Swap’ exchanges a circle of turf from a field in Wales with a circle of turf from a wildflower meadow in Springfield Park, Hackney. There are 39 species of flora in the turf that went to Wales and only 4 species in the sheep grazed turf that now resides in London. 1/2

French drains before piped drains, or surface drains, piping springs, marling, Sedgeford Project is a good example of how two millennia of ploughing fills in former valleys, alters utterly the landform, commonland the main survival of 'natural' landform and even then temporary cultivation not rare
