#Drafters
Ten times a day now, I'm like "This is literally what the drafters of the Constitution were explicitly trying to prevent".

Excited to announce that my book, REVOLUTION IN REDLINE, is finally out! I compile key docs leading to the Founding, then present the Founding Docs in "redline," visually tracking the drafters' edits to show how the text evolved. (The Founders didn't start from scratch, and they disagreed often.)1/6

yeah, I think the latter argument of a serious depreciation in quality will be burdened by the extremely low standards that ICE/DHS have had for a long time. ICE and CBP have been picking at the knuckle-drafters who couldn’t clear cop since GWB

Worth repeating that many of the early drafters of 🇺🇸 onstitutional order were not Christians, but Deists--people who denied the authority of the Bible & miracles, alongside Heaven & Hell. Jesus was just a wise moral teacher. God created the world, but simply left the program running.

Well, the drafters of 230 have repeatedly stated that the words means what the courts have interpreted them as meaning.

Setting aside the nuanced takes for a sec, it's kinda neat to get little glimpses into exactly what the drafters were thinking.
I wrote section 230 to protect user speech, not a company's own speech. I've long said AI chatbot outputs are not protected by 230 and that it is not a close call. Given that the Trump administration is going to the mat to protect pedophiles, states should step in to hold Musk and X accountable.
I am not a Section 230 expert but being that Twitter is creating and publishing these photos I wonder if they actually have any civil legal protection? @kenwhite.bsky.social ? @akivamcohen.bsky.social ?

(And I know the “if we do it they can do it” line is often bullshit, but if we can have a majority vote and declare insurrection and oust the president, that’s a can of worms I can’t imagine the drafters of the fourteenth amendment imagined they were opening)

Congrats! We're all wishing you the best. However, here are three guidelines to help you in your new job:

1. Dinosaurs in every set.
2. Limited is better when there are enough dinosaurs for multiple drafters.
3. Colossal Dreadmaw was just the first perfectly-designed card. You can make more!

solution: centralized system for submitting events/calls, automated distribution via sign ups and/or predictive matching. would some people get missed off relevant things? probably. but what do we reckon the current rates of engagement really are? and just imagine the time saved for drafters.

Yes, California should tax billionaires’ wealth. Here’s why flip.it/Wg.K2n
The initiative is explicitly designed to claw back some of the $1 trillion+
In tax breaks that billionaires received from One Big Beautiful Bill Act, while blowing a hole in state & local budgets for healthcare & much more.

I guess like drafters of Constitution, framers of NATO didn’t anticipate most powerful member (or branch of government) going completely rogue w/no honor or respect for rule of law. If so, they would’ve made checks a lot stronger since balances depend way too much on ppl doing right thing.

Looking over 17lands powered cube data, specifically the cards that have the biggest difference in winrates between best and worst drafters.

What card do you think will have the biggest gap? Lowest?

Because he revoked the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which was the widely contested equivocation of antisemitism and anti-Zionism - which one of the original drafters said is now being weaponised.

The drafters of our Constitution, as well as the people who voted to adopt it all those years ago, knew a bit about war and peace.

If our government feels pressured to go along with outside forces now can you imagine them resisting those folks if the requirement for UN approval is taken away?

Happy new year drafters! This week I'm wrapping up Avatar coverage with a look back at the TLA format.

I gave Prof. Wurman's (out-there) claim some thought.

(1) The idea that debt provision is surplusage ignores the history of the moment: the United States was already deeply in debt. The drafters likely needed to specify that Congress could levy taxes to honor old promises to the French, Dutch, etc.

This whole argument assumes that the drafters of the Civil War Amendments were near-illiterates who were incapable of reducing their intentions to words.

Germany is literally the US constitution 2.0. As designed by American drafters. Austria too.
December 25, 2025 at 2:54 PM
For “whatever that is”, you’d have to ask the drafters of the Convention on Genocide, based on Lemkin’s original work. But it’s literally *in the text*.

Wake up the legislative drafters
In Santa Monica, the FPPC has disqualified pro-housing Councilmember Jesse Zwick from all future housing votes. They said that because he works for a housing non-profit, he’s “conflicted” and must recuse.

Pretty absurd. The NIMBY deep state strikes again.

State regulators say Councilman Zwick is conflicted on housing votes
The California Fair Political Practices Commission has ruled that Santa Monica Mayor Pro Tem Jesse Zwick must recuse himself from housing production decisions

we had two first time drafters (one first time playing at all) and two who have only drafted a handful of times (and over a year ago)
