Anybody tried this game? Feels a bit like Breath of The Wild if it had a survival mode and was more about Dune style ecological engineering it's fun

Me, unironically and enthusiastically before Dune (2021) was released in theaters. (Frank Herbert Books only, let's be serious, we know Brian Herbert's books don't really count for worthwhile Dune lore.)

dustin "dune" ferrell:

- enjoys throwing things and breaking things. not cuz they're angry but because they like destruction
- yes, the tattoo under their eye says "PORN"
- very, very immature personality, but people assume they're mature cuz they're so quiet and looks "thoughtful"

What fictional world/place would you choose, knowing you'd have to design with current Earth public transportation? Some places my students came up with:

Bikini Bottom (SpongeBob)
Adventure Time
Fortnite
Azeroth (WoW)
Cyberpunk
Arrakis (Dune)
Zootopia
Avatar Last Airbender
Coruscant (Star Wars)

Also look, I know some studios might find it an erroneous cost, but...

Just look at how the modern Dune films, while still having problematic elements inherent to the books themselves, are getting more love for at the very least ATTEMPTING to do better. Let's do that with Jawas and the sandpeople.

David Lynch's Dune. It's one of my all time favorite movies.

How can this be?!? For he is the Kwizatch Hadderack!

I think they read Dune and thought it was inspirational and not, you know, a warning.

It's like with all the surveillance and prediction tech. Right out of Brave New World and 1984. Both of which were clearly warnings but somehow became inspiration to these assholes.

They don't know how to read.

Without a doubt one of the hardest sets I’ve ever built. But it was a lot of fun. LEGO, please make more Dune sets

Okay, maybe not my biggest takeaway, but I'm eating pizza and not looking to start yelling into the digital void. Not about Dune anyways.

Finished Dune for my new year resolution of one book a month. Both liked it and disliked it. Would love to go back in the future and finish my notations. Biggest takeaway is that the movies really downplay what a maniac Paul's dad is.

I did slip and fall but it was in the snow and sand right at the very end so nothing hurt

It's pretty rare for me to be able to see the moon rise from lake Michigan because the dunes with their forest are so tall.
