The Buddhists or the Jains do not depend upon God; but the whole force of their religion is directed to the great central truth in every religion, to evolve a God out of man. They have not seen the Father, but they have seen the Son. And he that hath seen the Son hath seen the Father also.

Achaia places his hand on ilyas belly. Perhaps the child will be like Jains, nebulous in its make. “and has grandmother Wychlaren made any predictions about Manohari?” He asks, deciding which version of the name he prefers regardless of gender.

jains develop the concept of karma as to give it an appreciable gravity; karma particles cling to the soul and weigh it down, preventing it from achieving moksha, trapping it in samsara. basically, this happened to me

mentally lazy and rigid in expectations means a person won't be these things. So you get the power struggle of trying to knock everyone else down a peg to avoid looking bad.

Eg the Jains and yggy's and other centrist pundits on twitter because idiot nazis are less threatening then more

Socrates taught Plato, who taught Aristotle, who taught Alexander the Great, who was accompanied by Pyrrho to India. After a year and a half with Jains and Buddhists, Pyrrho returned to Greece to found the school of Pyrrhonism, a form of Scepticism. Many of those Sceptic terms originate in the East.

There is a group of humans who try not to kill to live. #Jains don't eat animals and don't eat plants if they have to kill the plant (root vegetables). Picking an apple doesn't kill the plant. On the contrary, it's what nature wants from us.

The Ellora Caves are located near Aurangabad, India, and were carved from solid rock between the years 600 and 1000. The site has strong ties to Hindu epics, but these caves were also carved by Buddhists and Jains. In total, there are around 100 caves.

How did a replica of an Indian temple end up at a casino in Las Vegas? And how did it became holy to the Jains?

New year, new episode! The meta-entry on the Ramayana finds me trying to get to grips with my ignorance about all the dharmic faiths and deeply enjoying the Simpsons Comic Book Guy energy the Jains brought to their interpretation of the story. Listen now wherever you get podcasts!
Our last episode of 2025 (squeaked in just under the wire) explores the theme of dharma in the Ramayana, and how different faith traditions reinterpreted the story in line with their beliefs. Gotta love those Jains finding sympathy for the devil! podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/b... #podcast #booksky

The younger generation post-millennial world has learned that Jews have been persecuted for centuries and millennia. Who were those persecutors? One religion categorically stands out - Christianity (and Islam copied their persecutions). Who killed Jews in the First Crusade? Hitler was Roman Catholic
Israel will handle Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip on its own. Orthodox and Papal churches, Islam, Arabian Monarchies and Kingdoms, Mullahs, and also Fake-left won't be able to stop Israel from taking over Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip, and finishing Hamas, Hezbollah, etc

Was a delight to edit this wonderful tale by Leo Mirani about an object cynically conceived by Brits in India becoming something meaningful to Jains in America over the course of a century (and somewhere in the middle there Howard Hughes owned it)

Don't be surprised when the despot tries to declare "Christianity" the official religion of the U.S., which will be accompanied by extreme intolerance, violence, and deporting people who claim other religions (Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Zoroastrians) and even atheists.
