(Not) fun fact I learned about George Washington's slaves when I was at this site for a demonstration last fall: Washington systematically rotated slaves between the President's house in Phila and Mt Vernon every 6 months to prevent them from becoming emancipated under the Pennsylvania Abolition Act

Hop off in Tacoma and we can bike up to Mt Vernon. Easy two day ride but also easy to add spurs out and back on several really good trails. Foothills, Cedar River, Sammamish River, Whitehorse Trails are all easy spurs off the direct route.

Ok let me quick demonstrate that Washington was both secretive AND deceitful because I am a literate person with access to freely available sources on the internet.

Young noted that while historians might never be able to know if George Washington felt as if he was being deceitful or secretive, they do know that y rotating slaves between Pennsylvania and Virginia, Washington was attempting to avoid freeing any of his slaves under Pennsylvania's gradual abolition law."

I remember visiting Mt. Vernon and learning for the first time he owned slaves. This eliminates the ability of others to learn the truth.

Dan Fisher grew up in Van Buren, Arkansas. Fisher earned his B. A. in Secondary Education and Mathematics from Arkansas Tech University. In 1983, he became the pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Poteau, OK where he served for 9 years. In 1992 he became the senior pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Yukon, Oklahoma. Dan is an avid student of U.S. history and leads frequent tours on the Black-Robed Regiment to historic locations like Washington D.C., Mt. Vernon, Gettysburg (and other Civil War battlefields), Boston, Plymouth, and Lexington/Concord.[2] Dan is on the leadership team of the Oklahoma City Tea Party and is a frequent speaker at tea parties around the state. He is a member of the High Noon Club and serves on the boards of Bott Radio Network, Reclaiming America for Christ, and Vision America. Dan is a published author.[3]
