There is a potential for light snow tonight (Jan. 28) between 3 and 9 p.m.

If it does snow this afternoon, roads could quickly turn snow-covered and slippery.
* Make sure your car has enough gas.
* Plan your travel to avoid the snow, not to drive through it.
* Keep emergency supplies in the car.

Made it to the office in Fairfax Station. My own street was the worst condition by far but Mt. Vernon and Braddock were fine. The hills looked like treachery to cars and peds but a good time for sledders!

Made it to the gym in my weighted vest! On the way: too many unplowed, slick streets, a tiny fast bulldozer spinning at Dewitt and Windsor, a rat! Untouched Chirilagua sidewalks, the entire parking lot at four Mike run looking like a skating rink.

Oh interesting: the MN National Guard had publicly promoted that, if deployed, they would wear bright vests to differentiate themselves from DHS, who wear camo despite not being in the U.S military — and it appears they really did!
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Waiting for this snowstorm to happen and all I can do is sit with my feelings. Too full to stress eat. I’ve also been drinking gallons and gallons of caffeine free tea. The dog is tired of my incessant snuggling, I’ve checked and re-checked all of my hunker-down lists. What else? #fuckice

They were eventually allowed one phone call as a thanks for saving the agent’s life.

They used it to call their lawyer, who called their state representative, who ultimately got them released on the condition they tell people they were “treated kindly.”

Well I guess that settles any questions of whether someone should ever help an ICE employee in any way.
Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.
