Após algum tempo, Iemanjá visitou Orunmilá e, embora o que ocorreu no encontro seja desconhecido, ela acabou grávida. A criança nascida dessa visita era uma linda menina.

Curiosamente, os ìtàn (histórias) nos contam que Ọ̀rúnmìlà era cego e havia perdido o braço direito e antes de se tornar o grande sábio que conhecemos, Ọ̀rúnmìlà foi aprendiz de Ajàgùnmàlè (pronuncia-se adjágum malê), adquirindo conhecimentos que mais tarde formariam a base de Ifá.

I really think my friend that I had the heads of my orisha read with by an Ifa practitioner cursed herself by turning her back on the orisha. She later said something to me about she was wary of her head Oshun as an entity because she feared there was something demonic from her Christianity.

It doesn't seem like we need to posit absolute interval between the divination itself and Orunmila telling Obatala what to do, considering these things don't happen in time. The divination is Orunmila "speaking".

Interesting here is that the materials for an ifa divination is also somehow a miniature cosmos, or elements of one, if I remember properly, so Orunmila seems to be cognizing, and also transmitting, principles of formation here.
