SUPERTRAMP - Famous Last Words (1982)

It's fine! They've peaked by this point, and there's no real winners here, but it's still inherently listenable. Not a lot of energy but the prog-pop format works well for ballads. Definitely only for big fans but I'm glad I spun it.

And YOU get a headache! And YOU get a headache! And YOU get a...oh, death prog metal fans, don't hate me

is it any wonder that final fantasy fans love prog rock when nobou uematsu studied jazz and also never went to music school

Eiko Ishibashi's first release outside of Japan appeared back in 2013 and is now back in circulation, a pristine prog-pop gem co-produced by Jim O'Rourke - a must-hear for fans of his "Eureka" run, Van Dyke Parks, Yo La Tengo or even Wilco

3/3: For years I didn’t associate this with von Däniken, it was just a spacey album to accompany meteor showers. The music divides prog fans, I love it but it’s perhaps most famous for the dialled-in contribution from Bill Bruford.

#DailyCDBox No 11

Daily disc per CD box. Got enough to play a CD a day for over a year

The 11th box: Mostly Brahms

But I’ve chosen a multi award winning Pierre Boulez disc, bought in Potsdam on 9 August 2024 for one Euro!

Wonderful, complex stuff.

Recommended for open-minded prog rock fans!

Das Debüt von The U Principle hat auf sich warten lassen. Wir haben nachgefragt, warum es so lange dauerte und warum sich die Geduld für Prog-Fans lohnt.

I just discovered this awesome band Ingénue from Manchester that have an epic 10 minute song called "Aftergiggle"! It's a female fronted pop/punk/prog/rock sound with killer harmonies! For fans of Paramore and My Chemical Romance.

Hey CR fans, wanted to shout out half dive! They are a Custom Robo inspired prog rock band and have released videos for their songs Memory Eraser and Ray Legend to go alongside their album, A New Journey. If you haven't yet, check out their stuff in the comment below!

Two old English prog rock fans are in the pub.
One says “You’ll never believe this, man, but last week I went to a prog rock themed funeral.”
The other says “Was there a wake, man?”

I loved this book so much. So much heart, horror and humour

Struggling folk/prog band, 7 albums deep, go viral after a violent incident at a pub gig. Their fans misinterpret the lyrics and as they get bigger, commit escalating acts of violence.

Be careful what you wish for struggling artists😅

⬇️

The Brighton based band have become household names locally with their glorious Frankenstein mix of influences that looks a little bit like prog rock in the right lighting.

For fans of Man/Woman/Chainsaw, feeble little horse, American Football, Westside Cowboy, Sprints

A track from his new album by Mike Johnson, of Thinking Plague. Should appeal to any Rock in Opposition/art rock/Lost Crowns fans.

Let's also do this with prog rock, I want to see who's the ELP fans and who's on Team King Crimson

Among the many thanks, there were so many people this year asking if Prog XP or I am playing MAG, sharing that they were fans of my videos or the new album or just what I do in the scene 😍

👀 ALL of you please fill that MAG survey politely suggesting we play again, and other BIPOC-led acts too 🙏🏽

Okay, I like most of the songs on their first album but haven't really heard the others. Still, the stuff I like most is when it's focused and dramatic, less of the meandering stuff that I think most prog fans are really excited by.

The only one I ever actually bought on vinyl (I was too young for prog and liked punk. And ELO if I’m being honest. Plus later ELP….) was The Wall
But I seem to remember quite a lot of Floyd fans HATED that album when it came out 🤷‍♂️

#DailyCDBox One disc from each of my boxes of CDs, every day

Box No 5 (I have enough of these boxes to play one CD a day for over a year)

Today, on ECM, Herbert Henck plays Jean Barraqué’s Piano Sonata - exactly the kind of oblique work which all “prog fans” should take the time to listen to…

Cardiacs — ‘Sing to God’
Randomly found a used copy of this in Vancouver. Is this the one hardcore Cardiacs fans think is the best thing they ever did?
