Princess Projectra is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes who can create intensely realistic illusions. This short-lived costume, designed by Legion fan Paula Markham, debuted in 1971.

@genegonzales.bsky.social provides his take on the classic scene from the Baxter Edition of the #LegionOfSuperHeroes when the #EmeraldEmpress ended the mystery of Who is Sensor Girl by using the eye to blast away #Projectra 's disguise. Nice work, Gene!!!

I actually really liked this version of Projectra, and I was pissed the book ended on a cliffhanger for her. The same will power, rage and courage they turned her into Sensor Girl in the OG continuity made her a terrorist in this one.

Particularly baffling here. Apparently "Princess Projectra" sounded too much like a corny 1950s Legion of Super-Heroes name, so they went with..."Sensor Girl"? Was "Perception Lass" taken?

Wildfire is slightly beyond my period of attentiveness, which was wrapping up by 1971, I guess. But Matter Eater Lad was indeed on the sad side. OTOH, Princess Projectra rocked.

They told some tall tale to explain Ferro being alive w/ Shadow Lass present. Unnecessary b/c Projectra was impersonating her. PP probably choose SL b/c they are both planetary protectors blessed w/ occult like powers she can imitate and the Legion's known about shadow champions since the Gulag.

I liked the Sensor Girl story, but I wish she’d gone back to being Queen Projectra after the reveal.

Legion writer Jim Shooter dies at 72. Joins 3 out of 4 of his greatest creations in comic book after life. Princess Projectra is the sole survivor of the quartet that joined the Legion in their largest membership drive to date. Shooter killed Fe off himself when he wasn't allowed to make him black.
