Avedon used color manipulation and Day-Glo (yellow, red and fuchsia) colors to create a hallucinatory effect, reflecting the psychedelic culture of the era. Black over white curvy Op Art lines cover his eyeglasses.

All right, just turned in the last strips of my second year on FLASH GORDON. That's 730 installments in the bag -- appearing in a rough average of 1.5 panels per strip, I've drawn Flash about 1,095 times. Still takes me a couple tries to get his hair right. Tomorrow we start on year three ⚡
