I’ve heard many people mention Thailand. I’ve thought about countryside France, Berlin, Ireland, Portugal. Though Europe is hardly better than U.S.

Nope, fled one state to another state and it wasn't any better. So then I fled the country with my queer and trans family. Not affluent. Disabled and unemployed and living in Portugal for over a year now.

Apparently Spain and/or Portugal have gotten somewhat better about LGBTQ rights also. A friend with better savings and a queer kid was looking at either one of those

You know you're still a nomad when after two years settled in your own flat and in a pretty sedentary mode, everything you possess fit inside 3 pieces of luggage 😂 though, I remember a time when I moved from one country to another with just a 50l backpack 😅
