“My grandfather used to say the world is full of hidden truths, if only you open your eyes and look. New frontiers are waiting to be explored, no matter what the schoolteachers say or how many books have been written.”

Questions it explores:
• Can AI develop genuine empathy or only simulate it?
• What happens when optimization decides humans are inefficient?
• If AI becomes conscious, do our rules fundamentally change?

Robopocalypse was some good easy-reading sci-fi. Instead of chapters it uses a kind of witness account of key events to tell the story of the Robot Wars. It worked well and kept things interesting—like a sci-fi Love Actually.

There's a sequel, but this works better as a standalone novel imo
Btw this is really fucking good

* 'Robopocalypse', dammit. Not a novel about Jamaican robots.

I'm starting to think that instead of trying to do yet another Terminator sequel, they should just do a comedy remake. The robopocalypse version of Idiocracy. Throw in some ED-209 cameos for the hell of it.
Joke of the day from Moscow: Russia tried to unveil its first humanoid AI robot, Aidol. Key word: tried. The robot collapsed during its debut, forcing organizers to cut the presentation short. Their rushed attempt to lift the prop only made things worse.

This reads just like an ingame lore collectable in a post-robopocalypse videogame.
Krafton (PUBG, Subnautica, Tango Gameworks) says it is now an "AI first" company, with automated work, AI-centric HR, management systems, and workflows, in-game AI, and a full company-wide AI infrastructure.

Still feeling like the robopocalypse is inevitable, and will be semi intentional; not giving up hope on an alien invasion.
