Yesterday we made our first fitted insulation panel from seagrass and clay - the former gathered on the beach, the latter dug from the ground ten meters away. Local, sustainable, traditional, and vital materials we've been working to adapt to a modern, timber-framed, self-built, home.

Oracular Oriole - an oracle bird reading prophecies from matcha tea (milk foam in the shape of an open eye) with the inscriptions on the cup " Know thyself "- a Greek maxim referencing the oracle of Delphi. Oracular Oriole has great taste and proudly wears its sacred matcha brush as a hat. A cozy atmosphere adds to the magic, candles, and bowls filled with matcha/autumn leaves, spices like cinnamon, anise stars, vanilla pods, pumpkin/matcha powder, its favorite orange/lemon/citrus zest, and blueberries can be seen, too. In the front, two orioles are visiting this magical place none of them look like the other. They are much smaller than the mystical Oriole in the center of attention and are here to receive their reading. The sand on the floor forms lots of circles, a bit like a zen garden. Some sand routes seem to have moved a teapot to the scenery. These circular patterns also appear in the background but are colorful seagrass decoration. Electric pulses and colorful light show how far the supernatural work is at its current state. What will the future hold for the Orioles? As our seas warm due to climate change Mangroves may also be used to stabilise our coastal erosion and could be grown to reduce storm and flood damage.

Seagrass is amazing, another one of nature’s perfect answers to the man made problems we face - just like Beavers. Seagrass once surrounded our coastline, providing habitat for all kinds of wonderful creatures, like sea horses - and also nurseries for fish.
