1/16 - Tetris 99 - (we're late a day, sue me) What a wild fucking concept this game is. Let's take the Battle Royale craze and apply it to a genre you'd never expect! Tetris 99, playing against 98 other people and when you clear off lines you can send junk blocks to other players to mess them up.

The amount of time I spent playing Tetris Sprint with a Puyo Puyo character in the first game...
Any major reason to buy the sequel?

Yeah afaik the idea is to stop your brain from ruminating and replaying the events over & over which makes things worse. But also a brain on PTSD doesn’t have capacity for strategic thinking or storytelling. So any game that’s simple and immediate (like Tetris - you have to act) would work I think!

I usually end up keeping most of it 🫣 then it's all just a game of tetris trying to fit it all into different boxes and baskets

also mabinogi has the craziest mini game ever in its insane fucking tetris-ass inventory system with, while completely frustrating, is also incredibly fun :3 its like resident evil bag on crack

That's Awesome! Truly! I'm stoked that the technique extends beyond Tetris - tetris definitely ain't everyone's cup of tea. Although I would probably caution Will against using this specific game for his use case. He's practically playing Mario Kart IRL. 🫠

#LastRT Always figured that was the case. The 90s were always the wild west for game magazines, and you could just say anything to get people to read lol. That, and Tetris Attack was released in 96 like a month before the N64 came out. It wasn‘t ever gonna be that big of a priority for NoA.

I wouldn't say so tbh, but then again maybe it's just me because I bought the game at launch and at the time it was the only Tetris game on the system because Tetris 99 didn't come out until almost 2 years later 😅

Saw this yt short that was seeing how old you were based on if you recognized game themes. Apparently the metric for being 18+ is knowing the zelda and sonic themes, and knowing the tetris theme means I'm "unc"

Blackhead removal videos would be even better if the fail buzzer from the Tetris game boy game (or the boss damage sound from Super Mario Land) played as the gunk comes out.

I usually like to play a couple rounds of Tetris or just any simple puzzle game, but really any casual/cozy game I always like to play when I’m sick and sluggish.

Just something to shut my brain off and take my mind off things.

When I took down all the Christmas decorations, I arranged them all in the bonus room. They're all over the place. After my 3rd cup of coffee, I feel ready to go tackle stuffing everything in the big closet up there. It's like a game of tetris.

22. Tetris 99

I played this game right when it came out and was obsessed with it. It's so addictive and one of the greatest battle Royale ever made (because its Tetris hehe). I even live streamed it for some time, and got a physical copy (that's practically the DLCs on the cartridge)

Oh and I can't just use the excellent NetGuard to banish the app from accessing the Internet, because apparently TETRIS, a single player game with no need to download any content, REQUIRES an ongoing Internet connection to work

Kuiper Cargo is of particular note. It's a Tetris-style block falling game, but the blocks are cargo in a space-delivery ship, and your goal is to pack as much cargo (in terms of both quantity and value) in as possible to make the most money on your delivery, so you can upgrade your ship.

Four video games that changed my life

Mario Kart DS: Being my first exposure to gaming (From what I remember at least)

Earthbound: This is what made me interested in JRPGs and became my favorite video game series of all time.

Puyo Puyo Tetris: While I dislike this game today, it still holds (1/2)

Tetris Attack is such a good game! I used to try and beat Very Hard mode without losing a single time. It's neigh impossible.

I will always remember how i started playing videogames when my dad let me his old DS with only the brain training game, that game was like my addiction although i was a kid so i understood nothing and only played to the tetris minigame all day 🫡 good memories
