#Wholegrain
Cassie’s impression of Fae food is that it is often strange and unappetising. They eat a lot of wholegrain flatbreads and bitter vegetables with weird flavours. She loses weight in fae in part because she struggles to eat enough. She does appreciate when Taengi manages to find some fruits for them.

Just got my cook on.
Mash for tea flavoured with garlic butter and wholegrain mustard (served with chicken smeared with camembert, wrapped in bacon). Also a turkey broth (with sprouts and parsnips) for lunch over the next three days.

#SelfCare #Cheese it's been windy and rained all day. I'll never be one of life's people who start dieting in January, winter is the season of comfort food! The beetroot smoked salmon is from Jollys of Orkney share.google/KT5TkZz3iX9L... and very good! 🤤 #ScoEdu #EduSky

Chicken, rocket and avocado on wholegrain sourdough, with a light layer of Kiwi onion dip.

Seedy wholegrain bread, some sort of spiced roasted/grilled chicken, arugula, bell pepper, onion (both raw and crispy), olives, pickles, either honey mustard or a chili sauce

Uhm…I have questions -
What tune is this to?
Why Mrs Bread?
Which type of Bread are we talking about? Sourdough? Wholegrain?
People need more information 🤷‍♂️

- occasionally I'll do a wild card with apricot or peach jam. I once had a jar of Smuckers red plum jelly that was pretty tasty

- But my favorite overall, is a fancy 100% wholegrain bread with lots of seeds, untoasted, creamy natural peanut butter, and strawberry or blueberry Polaner All Fruit.

Anyone else deeply disturbed by chicken being 40% vegetable?

I'm disabled myself, so I very much understand that, but little changes can still help.

Choosing a healthier cereal, for instance, swapping out white bread for wholegrain in your sandwiches.

If I were dictator I'd force all smaller supermarket outlets to stock wholegrain bread, rice and pasta. No exceptions

It freezes quite well too, especially if you use thigh. You could use garlic or blitzed white onions instead of spring onions if you cant do chopped. Add as much cheese as you like. Use cheddar, parmesan, a mix, whatever you prefer. Also could use Dijon if wholegrain is a no-go 🥰

Pork steaks and nectarines, with a pan sauce of wholegrain mustard, cider and rosemary.

A great, quick weeknight dinner during our short nectarine season (and it's a good one this year) and absolutely required eating after the year's first working day.

Tbh I do insist on making risotto a more complicated way by using wholegrain rice. But do think I have managed to make it work with some extra steps (crucial is keeping the soaking water to us in the stock for creaminess). Also addition of nooch as well as parmesan for my mushroom version is genius.

It had a touch too much salt but was generally happy with the mushroom risotto I made for lunch. Was a bit worried the fancy wholegrain Carnaroli rice we got from Turin still hadn't softened enough despite soaking for 2 days as it hadn't expanded much, but was ok in the end.

Pretty much like Lizi's. Dominated by toasted oats, so think of it as a rather ordinary porridge mix with bits: "70% Wholegrain Oat Flakes, 9% Chopped Nuts (Hazelnuts, Almonds, Cashew Nuts, Walnuts), Rapeseed Oil, 4% Pumpkin Seeds, 3% Sunflower Seeds, 2% Desiccated Coconut, Black Treacle, Sugar."

I'm aiming for all of them but at the moment like none. Wholegrain is the least worst so that can be my gateway one.
