Attachments: Mainly PDFs. Display inline, storage, editing. OneNote 5/5, Joplin 4/5 Obsidian 3/5. No one beats OneNotes ability to both store PDF as attachment or print it into a page. Joplin is ok, but UI is a bit funky. Never clear whether I should be in MD mode or WYSIWYG mode (3/5)

LLMs frequently lying about what they are doing, not just the world, is a serious usability problem. It's a little shocking we tolerate it but then again have you seen the early WYSIWYG editors?

Last night I fixed printing in MacPaint. Comes out of my laser printer so much crisper than it did at first. MacPaint basically had WYSIWYG printing with the resolution of MacPaint documents being more or less paper size on a 72dpi ImageWriter. Got it pretty close. Before and after:

Again: our standard products cost anything from 50k p.a. upwards so we’re willing to engage at lengths in sales, gap analysis and preprod (i.o. burdening assistance & support teams).

Low(er)-cost solutions IMHO *must* be low-touch (WYSIWYG, *aaS, and all that) to be cost-effective.

People hyping AI coding as making coding semi-irrelevant don't know how much this is a retread of old territory.

This is WYSIWYG editors all over again.

Dreamweaver was supposed to make learning HTML and CSS irrelevant and here we are...

Instead of that, I made something else.

I improved my shell using a command table and proper handlers instead of a bunch of if-else in kernel.c, and added support for lowercase chars so that I'm not screaming at the kernel all the time.

This also may or may not be a shitpost in OS form.

WYSIWYG.

i need to figure out how to make my blog more usable. my main problem is that STRAPI isn't really WYSIWYG with my current setup (and it doesn't render stuff like images from a remote source properly in the preview)
