We are one hour in and for stitching up someone you get to bite down on a dog chew toy. They don't have local or even general anaesthetics in the 32nd century?

And yet ….

It isn’t hard to see blowing children up, burning the mo death, crushing them, drowning them, freezing them, shooting them in the head, guts, genitals, denying them anaesthetics for amputations or treatment for cancer is wrong

And yet more than two years on …. Nothing

anaesthetics; physiological changes to noxious stimuli; displaying protective motor reactions; exhibiting avoidance learning; and making trade-offs between noxious stimulus avoidance and other motivational requirements.

Well, no! You don't need anaesthetics when you can take your teeth out 🤣🤣🤣

Interesting… because train of four is not routinely used in anaesthetics for short procedures… but then again, neither are the longer acting paralytics.

This unit provides information on the use of anaesthetics for surgical procedures. It also includes information on the use of anaesthetics to provide humane restraint during other, non-painful, procedures, such as imaging. After completion of this module, learners should have an understanding of factors influencing the selection and application of anaesthesia for these procedures. Online […]

the guy who made my style as his apprentice could've likely hot shod any fucking wild horse on the planet

i got tired of getting broken, so if they were ruuuuurlly nasty i'd sedate them

this introduces a whole new set of problems, horses are very good at breaking through even anaesthetics
many horse owners simply don't undertstand how fucking smart horses are

the owners got managed up the wazoo

until said horse tried it on with sōf

Like on your spine? That's pretty major bud...
I've had 2 of those, 1 under partial anaesthetics, 1 fully under. I think I prefer the latter. It was a bit scary but preferable to the feeling of surgical tools scraping my spine. It didn't hurt but it felt DEEPLY wrong.

(I wrote on Victorian anaesthetics in relation to animal experimentation some time back, and the resulting article initially had a long historic section that covered their discovery but it was cut for length reasons)

...harrowing. Men perished one by one in lifeboats and as castaways on deserted Arctic islands where they were stalked by polar bears. Frostbitten and wounded survivors ended up in Russian hospitals so primitive that amputations were carried out without anaesthetics."

This kind of awful should hurt as much being removed as applied. But what are the odds that he went to a “kind” inker who used topical anaesthetics. 😹

It's kinda like, you're on an operating table under anaesthetics, clinically noticing your hand holding a scalpel about to git into your body & the part of you that's supposed to cry out "NO! STOP!" is missing.

That's America right now

I’m not sure whether anaesthetics had already been invented in the US back in the 200xs. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Joke aside, for medical reasons that simply wasn’t possible. I’ve had surgery for the same condition before, using a different surgical method, and that time it was under general anaesthesia.

Very allergic to nitrous oxide and adrenalin which dentists use in local anaesthetics to anaesthetize gums before drilling your teeth for a filling.
