Yup. If AI shot shows up in a search result I scroll on past.
I've been hearing this refrain lately about AI-

"Everyone uses it, some people are just honest about it."

Bullshit. I can't stop search 'summaries' popping up, but otherwise it's not something I use or want in my writing process.

Never prompted ChatGPT.
Never spent AI credits on Microsoft/Adobe.

I would really recommend this conversation about the crisis facing the field of genocide studies, because too many people are unwilling to acknowledge (or support) a present day genocide

My conversation with @maricohen.bsky.social associate editor at @jewishcurrents.bsky.social is now up on the public feed.

One of the most important conversations I've had all year. A fascinating/sad/mindbending discussion about the rifts forming within Genocide Studies & more.

Holocaust remembrance culture is of course in crisis because organizations like this one support an ongoing genocide and think that 'never again' does not apply to everyone.

Now the *US Holocaust Museum* is chiming in to smear Zohran via subtweet. One of the board of trustees of this same organization says the ppl of Gaza are collectively guilty and not worthy of any mercy.

I mean it is bleak. How can this be? US Holocaust museum has Genocidal board members?!

What does the term Never Again even mean to them?

The exceptionalism is deeply alarming, and this organization in particular has been horrific.
The US Holocaust Museum being more outraged by Tim Walz saying that, like Anne Frank, children today are in hiding from armed agents of the state, than they are about the fact that children are in hiding from armed agents of the state, is why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis.

Me, trying tp persuade my family to try a new TTRPG. (Board games are easier because they don't involve novel-sized rule books or the threat acting is part of play.)

Fundamentally theocracy is wrong anywhere and everywhere. People's spiritual beliefs are whatever they are but the crime against humanity being waged by the Warhammer Guys and Women Who Like Latin and Veils, is the belief that their faith should become imperial.

This is functionally similar to a lot of other religious communities where the first victims of religious dogmatism and chauvinism are dissident members of the religious community themselves, and a lot of the time it doesn't help to just scapegoat Religious Belief in general for specific harms.

You know, a decade ago, I was hanging out with @peterwatts.bsky.social at the bar on the last day of Ad Astra and he told me the story of his final visit to the United States including how he was brutalized by border patrol ...

Anthropic and OpenAI are weird millenarian cults with venture funding and should be treated as such.

"Anthropic rep says..." should be treated with all the seriousness and gravity as, "Raelian representative Brigitte Boisselier said..."

Amanda, be honest, did you get "Claude" to write this for you?
This is Amanda Askell's most recent published paper. It's real bad. As in it's longtermist claptrap. It's unsurprising that Anthropic has such an unserious twit as their house philosopher.

If these Nazis can't handle people with whistles and boxes of free snacks imagine how they'll fold the first time they face real insurgents.
MAGA military geniuses are talking about Minnesota protestors like they are the Iraqi insurgency, the Taliban, and the Viet Cong all rolled into one.
