Wrt Kamala query of Shapiro if he is Israel agent:

1. Prosecutors don't ask Qs that they don't know the answer to (hint: she's a prosecutor).
2. He didn't say "no." He said it was "ridiculous."
3. She walked into the meet uncomfortable.

She had to meet with him to avoid 'anti-semitism' charges.

The origin of Shapiro’s umbrage is, I suspect, this. Now, he has a perfect right to feel however he feels. But that second definition of anti-Semitism is not universally shared, and certain recent Israeli government actions have thrown it into serious disrepute with younger American particularly.

The Israeli government itself is adamant that the latter must at least be a component of how anti-Semitism is defined (no doubt it cares deeply about the former. It’s just pretty quiet about it). Some Americans believe it too. But many others don’t, viewing Israel as just another country.

A cagey reference in @isaacdovere.bsky.social’s reporting to “blurred lines” in defining anti-Semitism hints at what I suspect is the real problem here. Is anti-Semitism prejudice, aggression against or abuse of Jews? Or is it criticism of the Israeli government (or the Israeli PM personally)?

Anti-semitism is real
It can also be used as a cudgel
Racism is also real
Islamophobia is also real
The genocide in Gaza is also real

Michael Rosen beautifully explains exactly why John Mann coming for Zack Polanski is terrible weaponisation of anti-semitism

the thing about charges being thrown baselessly for decades (and conflating criticism of Israel with de facto anti-semitism) is that when the AEI and Greenblatt/ADL fail to call out Trump and literally mansplain Elon Musk's heil Hitler salutes, these accusations have lost all meaning and efficacy
Obviously candidates’ positions on Palestine and Israel are fair game for vetting. But if Harris only asked this question of the sole Jewish person they considered for VP, even though all their VP choices were pro-Israel, that is antisemitic. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/18/u...

Lmao called it.

My next prediction:
Josh Shapiro is going to claim it was anti-semitism that he failed miserably in his presidential campaign (he only has one move) & start working directly for either the Israeli government or one of the Israeli propaganda orgs operating in the US like the ADL
Josh Shapiro is going to call Kamala Harris anti-semitic any day now for writing how she recognized in him a fellow conniving power seeker who will sell out anything and anyone the moment a Republican-minded consultant to the Democrats suggests it

The Australian Parliament is set to pass anti-Semitism legislation after Opposition Leader Susan Lee agreed to a deal, with families of the Bondi terror attack present during proceedings. A separate gun control bill is expected to pass with Greens support, while Queensland has withdrawn from a national gun buyback scheme, joining the Northern Territory and Tasmania in opposing the joint funding arrangement.

So, what you're saying is if people aren't safe in their country they should...

come here...

where it's safer...

for immigrants...

and we'll take you in...

as refugees...

from more dangerous countries...

and you'll be safe...

from anti-Semitism...

in the United States...

as immigrants...?

On reading the G editoral it does not say directly anti semitism. I apologise. But, the G was wrong on many ways. The Israel football club fans have a well documented reputation for violance where ever they go.They have to be banned as all contact with Israel should be. Its not A/S to say so.

Shapiro was asked if he was an "agent" of a foreign country. That's textbook anti-Semitism.

We all recognized it when Cuomo tried to do a similar smear with Mamdani.

Not all Jewish people are Zionist genocide supporters, leave your anti-semitism out of this.

You can say what you like

The fact is - Corbyn lost twice - despite the mess Tories were making. And Starmer won out the blocks - despite many saying in 2020 it would take at least 2 elections to overturn the large Tory majority Corbyn bequeathed as his only legacy other than anti-semitism

B/c they’re “White” and not b/c anti-semitism isn’t a huge U.S. issue as well.

Heinrich Von Trietschke was writing all this stuff in the 1870’s, and he shared many of his ideas about nationalism and anti semitism with french writer Eduard Drumont, which just goes to say these ideas were commonplace in Europe well before Hitler or even Ford

Haha oh my, are the Dreyfus affair french terrified of importing anti-Semitism??? Oh that's so rich. One could retire on this!

The proper solution by the Democrat party would be to demolish the institutions supporting Trump.

Punish universities that gave in to “anti-semitism” pressure.
Deny airtime and support to complicit media.
Cut the military down significantly.
Wealth tax on the billionaires.

We’ll see none of that.

... as long as you can deal with Bascom's passing anti-semitism. But it's really just a current phrase (meaning to cheat) he probably didn't even recognize as anti-semitic. Or not.

I fought against social manias and authoritarian reflexes concerning Covid, censorship, Plandemic conspiracy theorists, 10/7 anti-Semitism, and now on Iran. Now it’s personal, but I fight the same.
