Ahh another Sunday where people pretend to be good and godly people praise God for an hour or two then go to a restaurant and abuse the restaurant staff.

im also coming out of this run with much more sympathy and affection for rhea specifically (i still don't care about the other churchfolk but that's not a plot thing, just a personal taste thing). i kind of respect not only the centuries old grind but also like, setting up a system

aww hope your back gets better soon! 🙏

haha the adorable kitty is always good to show off!~ 😽 + let the curious churchfolk have their nibble in sin as a treat ehehehe~~ 😼

Jesus got mad enough to go full DIY! Was willing to sit there and *braid a whip himself* to clear out the temple, so I don't wanna hear churchfolk say they can't be mean when the spirit requires😂

Opinions about this are a dime a dozen (even with all the conservative freaks coming for people's jobs for speaking out - joke's on you mfs, I'm a freelancer) but it's a good reminder to myself that, immaterial to decades of crap I dealt with in my upbringing, compassionate churchfolk speak truth
This was a word AND he cussed 😂

Thomas Haden Churchfolk rise up

I've never gotten his. People are still arguing about how great Lee and Columbus were. The only way history frowns on some asshole is if he ends up getting killed and even then it only works if the damn churchfolk don't decide he died for Jesus or some shit.
Folks who talked big shit about how history will see people are doing a bang up job at ignoring and/or rewriting history, I see.

There'd be a lot less alcoholics and a lot more churchfolk if church got you buzzed and made it easier to sleep with strangers at the bar

This terrible state is good for the Church. She always thrives in painful and difficult times. Churchfolk are seeing the disconnect between conservative Christianity and Jesus’ love and they (some, and increasingly) are rejecting the former to follow the latter.

I suppose it's a different kind of healing, a knowing that I will likely never receive the kind that I want, but also knowing that I have a good family of friends and churchfolk that loves me, genuinely loves me, and not a carefully managed mask

there have been good moments so far, but sometimes I just realize how much my churchfolk and friends love me, how Marge and Charlie from the next pew over will hold my hands while praying like family members in our church do, and I barely know them, and my mother hasn't reached for mine yet

Churchfolk. Shitty, shitty churchfolk

Looking over the discourse from last/this week, some of you, respectfully, are only separated from the churchfolk who used to beat me, isolate my family, and call me slurs by dint of being on “the right side”.

I should not be reading your post history and wondering if you’re a kiwi farms op

I'm not churchfolk, but somebody suggested I read Matthew 23:1-33 the other day and it woke me right up. Those ppl aren't following Christ; they are described by Christ as the opposition and are reflections the people who killed Christ.

Somebody suggested I read Matthew 23:1-33 yesterday and that sht was WILD. I'm not churchfolk, but that section of that book you inspired was fire. Your son was dragging the sht out of ppl just like them all over Jerusalem. Ripped Elmo's plugs out. Donald's tumbleweave was flying everywhere.

Somebody recently turned me on to Mathew 23:1-33. I'm not churchfolk, but it blew my mind how similar it all was

In the truest sense, Amen.

I know some very cool churchfolk still but yeah, not all of them or even most of them.

“Of The Father's Love Begotten,” text based on the Latin poem Corde Natus by the Roman poet Aurelius Prudentius, often performed during the Christmas season. Sung by ChurchFolk, from College Church in Wheaton. Interesting blend of instruments www.youtube.com/watch?v=chLM...

Heard an older GenX giving a talk and congratulating everyone her age for surviving their childhood minds being warped & destroyed by KISS or whoever else the uppity churchfolk were freaking out over in their day.

Me every weeknight from 10pm-2am, hiding the boombox under my pillow/blankets from my churchfolk parents when I went to sleep. RIP Tony Brown!

Went to a friend’s art opening at a bar and then ended up at dinner with churchfolk. Feeling better.
It's been a really, really tough week, and I just had an experience that made me feel unbelievably small and shitty. And now I've started crying and can't stop long enough to get on the bus to go home.

Some of the best (and admittedly challenging) Jesus stuff was received by churchfolk as needlessly provocative edgelord trash (Last Temptation is another excellent work with lots of backlash) whose deviations from traditional approaches are seen as blasphemous and touted sans context... 4/

...Goulet standing by him because "let's let people grow" when he's been like this for however long of his adult life is a CHOICE. They were already giving me weird churchfolk vibes anyway from the newsletters, and I grew up in church.
His changing ink names doesn't make him not antisemitic.
