Tried to reorder tea from a French company that we really like, and not only will they no longer ship to the U.S., if you try to enter a U.S. address, it returns an "invalid country" error message.

Which ... yeah.

One thing listening to @mikeduncan.bsky.social’s Revolutions taught me is how wildly the pendulum swings. My despair is rooted in knowing how likely it is to swing back again & again because humanity seems unable to do much better for very long.
There's a particular kind of doomer on here who's like "and then SCOTUS will install him as president for a third term, and the military will back him up" as if that's the end of history.

Friend, there's still an "and then" after that.

People should not act surprised, especially the right wing and anyone who voted for Trump.

We warned them. They did not listen. And now they choose to forget.

No we're not gonna set them on fire cuz they're all built in Black and brown neighborhoods or on protected wetlands and data center fires are extremely extremely EXTREMELY toxic and bad and dangerous

The NYT scrupulously avoided putting any number to the No Kings protests -- going with "many protestors" or "droves of protestors" and refusing to publish a hard attendance figure.

Gerontocracy discourse needs to be considered along with Bluesky's prevailing notion of "young people (aged 30-45)."
My dream is to one day become the Ed Debevic’s of contractors except I don’t know how anyone will be able to tell.

Politically, the landscape is shifting too:

🔴 Nearly all platforms have become more Republican
🔵 But they remain Democratic-leaning overall
🏃‍♂️ Democrats are fleeing to smaller platforms (Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon)

Legacy platforms are losing ground:

⬇️ Twitter/X

But

"Other" platforms - including Bluesky - has not seen significant growth as a whole. (But huge compositional changes)
