I get questions about vibration sensation in bird feet a lot, but it has never been investigated (so is possible). Their hearing is not great; similar to songbirds in hearing range but they need sounds louder. It's a puzzler. And the same puzzle applies to cockatoos that feed on wood boring larvae.

Hi Sherrie. Of course somebody that has walked with lions will be a bit bored by a old-shoe comfortable 4. I guess that can't be helped.

Still, you're very welcome in Club 4 and so is the cute little humming bird. We've had cockatoos in the clubs, but no humming birds that I know of.

Corellas appearing for the first time in my Melbourne suburb since the recent #bushfires.

Since the 2019 fires we’ve had black cockatoos nesting in a local reserve.

Urban #greenspace is more important than ever in our #climatecrisis.

Climate change kills quickly. A heatwave can decimate entire species.

The crazy hot 3024summer/drought f'd up trees and plants in (another) "forest collapse" event that killed seed production for the few plants that endangered black cockatoos eat - if they weren't burnt, logged, or cleared.

This is a really good guide! Thanks for posting. We gave up on trying to grow corn here, the wild Sulphur Crested Cockatoos knew how to strip cobs like that cartoon character Foghorn Leghorn.

Various Cockatoos assassinate some tree types by biting off all leaves, repeatedly.

Long term some species cannot survive, others are shaped. Others only grow from inaccessible rock crevices.

Remarkable.

“I can’t imagine a world without koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, dunnarts, black cockatoos … compassion.”

Patrick McDonnell

The world so needs more compassion, empathy & kindness. #purrs4peace
