if trump gets 25th'd that would put vance as POTUS. not so sure if that is an improvement, he might not say cringe worthy things but vance would be every bit as divisive toward non-white, non-christian, women and LGBT people. Perhaps more-so.

Its really fucking difficult because as a young teenager Deviantart and the like were my only exposure to other LGBT people but also put me in a lot of danger and caused harm. Im not sure id be alive today if Facebook, "cringe channel" Youtubers, X and the like were mainstream when I was a kid

It's a pretty typical reaction of someone who understands that bad LGBT stories are often lazy corpo pandering and coming-out plots are over-represented, but his solution is a kneejerk "Don't talk about it." type thing just because entirely avoiding any chance of cringe is the simplest thing to do.

i was watching hazbin hotel and there was a cute scene with charlie and vaggie that probably would have put up wilt numbers with lesbians if lgbt people actually cared about representation and didnt shit on every depiction of queer people that they think is cringe cuz tenderqueer antis told them too

I Also wanna add is that this is an outrage cycle created by people who have not read the series bc she isnt wearing that for entire book and it shouldnt be that big a deal for lgbt+ characters to wear their flag colors sometimes. Like people caught a trans girl character looking slightly cringe

like, the only way that could happen would be in a context where being LGBT was somehow the norm, and if that were the case, you don’t want popularity with the mean LGBT people, you don’t need to be cool to them if you’re heterosexual! intrinsically as a minority you are cringe but that’s hot now!

Obviously this is one huge cringe-fest anyways but don’t you think part of the point on Stonewall is for LGBT+ people to just be an accepted and regular part of everyday life?
I know a fair few lgbt+ folk and none of them has ever said to me that they came out ‘for the counterculture maaaaaaannnn!’

It annoys me when nominal support for LGBT rights is used instrumentally to push for clout or unrelated goals. But I *really* hate it when it’s treated as basically a cringe bourgeois affectation, whether it be the right, left, or center that’s pulling out that old canard.
