About halfway through Dave Hutchinson's The Essence and loving it. A LeCarre-ish intellectual spy thriller but with speculative fiction cosmological weirdness underpinning everything. Excellent and I wish I could read it in one go (but deadlines...)

I loooove POSSESSOR. Peak science fiction horror psychological thriller… It's violent, gorgeously shot, and puts you on edge right away. Such an interesting concept and ahead of its time. #filmsky

The more I hear about AI the more I think about this new thriller from @authorbnugent.bsky.social

The Sentient Ones really are "the machines that loved us to death".

If ever a work of fiction had meaning & relevance today...

Finished stitching my 2025 book tracker! Been very satisfying to catch up on at least one craft project. It's helping me find little sparks of joy in the world right now.

Pattern by thestircrazycrafter & purchased on Etsy. Genres & representative colors chosen by me.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin.

"Regular" fiction...big fan of anything Tana French does (thriller/police mysteries). The Queen's Gambit by Walter Tevis, The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, The Thin Man or Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett.

REGRESSION on blu. I quite liked this. Very crime fiction approach to a bleak thriller. A good genre mix. I kept expecting it to get supernatural but nope. Not totally comfortable with how it situated itself in the real-life history of the satanic panic.

I loved Christopher Pike books in the 90s. Amazing YA thriller fiction.

I need book recs now pls! Stashing my kindle for my solo trip.

I need something fast paced, entertaining, a real page turner. Can be a thriller, fantasy, or just general fiction.

I don’t want something that takes a while to get into & I don’t want something too young adult.

Foreign Bodies is Black Mirror x The Last of Us, where a teenage scavenger living under an electricity ban finds a wounded stranger beyond her city’s walls—only to discover he was created to kill the last of her family. This took me... So long. Why.

I need an audiobook recommendation. But unfortunately I have read every book. I need a thriller or mystery/suspense novel. No non-fiction. Too scary. Help.

5/ “Aurora Borealis” by Maksym Hakh combines mythical fantasy, alternative history, cyberpunk, and a spy thriller with exquisite ease. New Ukrainian speculative fiction seeks and experiments, and it is fascinating to witness this process. #ChytomoPicks
